Ibid est une parodie écrite en 1927 ou 1928, et publiée pour la première fois dans le numéro de janvier 1938 de O-Wash-Ta-Nong. "Ibid" est une fausse biographie du savant romain Ibidus (486-587), dont le chef-d'œuvre était l' op. cit., "où tous les courants sous-jacents significatifs de la pensée gréco-romaine se sont cristallisés une fois pour toutes". La pièce retrace le crâne d'Ibidus, autrefois la possession de Charlemagne , Guillaume le Conquérant et d'autres notables, jusqu'aux États-Unis, où il voyage via Salem, Massachusetts et Providence, Rhode Island jusqu'à un terrier de chien de prairie à Milwaukee, Wisconsin .
