Summary
Rebecca Keane has it all figured out. With a successful career as an Army surgeon and a fresh promotion to lieutenant colonel, she loves her life leading a surgical team. Even if that life means she’s spent years hiding her sexuality and ignoring her desires under the Army’s "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy. Then Captain Sabine Fleischer’s arrival sets off an attraction that cracks Rebecca’s carefully cultivated armor and brings about fresh complications.
As Sabine’s direct commanding officer, Rebecca knows she cannot act on her attraction, but that knowledge does nothing to squash her desires. Unable to keep her thoughts about the alluring other woman under control, Rebecca resigns herself to years of censoring her thoughts and feelings until Sabine’s time in the Army is done. She’s spent decades suppressing parts of herself for her job, so what’s a few more years?
But as Rebecca and Sabine work closely together on Army bases in Afghanistan and the States, the undeniable sparks between them begin to ignite. And despite Rebecca’s constant self-censure, her denials and her knowledge of every obstacle standing between them, her resolve crumbles with each passing day. But when the consequences of your love run deeper than just breaking one of the unbreakable rules of the military, you risk losing more than just your heart.
If I Don’t Ask is the must-hear story telling Rebecca’s side of E. J. Noyes’ best-selling Ask, Tell.

Amazing
I’ve listened to Ask two and ask me again at least a couple of times each now, this was a welcomed addition to the series. Brilliantly written and narrated as always. I’ve loved this series so a version from Becs prospective was amazing! Highly recommended!

Just WOW!!!!!
Another outstanding book. I really didn't think the 'Ask, Tell' couldn't be improved uoon, but E J Noyes has done it again.
As for narration, there aren't enough superlatives to describe Abby Craden. The Noyes/Craden combo knocked it out of the park AGAIN!!!!!

Necessary and beautiful
Thank you EJ Noyes for this book.
Gives you both sides of the story and it is beautiful, sad, painful and necessary.
You get to know both MC on a deeper level and how this is one of the most beautiful love stories.

omg
not only do I love this series, I must say that I think, this has ro be the best of the 4. it was good to hear it from Rebecca's side.
mine only grip about all 4 books is that they didn't waith for Abby Cradon to be available to read the 3rd book.
I hope if you do listen to them you enjoy them as much as I have

Wow!
I couldn’t wait to read this, or rather listen to the fabulous Abby Crayden’s narration after finishing both Ask Tell and Ask Me Again in the last three days.
This is the fourth book in the Ask Tell series and as long as you read, Ask Tell first you can read book four before two and three.
Yes it’s a sapphic love story, but so very much more - exciting, thrilling, heart wrenching and dramatic edge of the seat stuff. There are no adequate words to describe how utterly enthralling I’ve found this series. The last three nights I’ve desperately tried to stay awake, listening on audible well into the early hours and then again very early in the morning as soon as my eyes opened - desperate to know what’s going to happen next, but tortured, knowing I was galloping all too soon to the end of the story.
No detailed review other than to say I’ve totally fallen in love with the main characters, Captain Sabine Fleischer and Colonel Rebecca Keane (especially Rebecca) and this story is Ask Tell told from Rebecca‘s point of view in contrast to Ask Tell which is from Sabine‘s perspective.
No spoilers here, but I couldn’t wait to experience (and I did experience) all the feels of two key events from Bec’s POV and strangely I found myself going back to Ask Tell to compare and relive them all over again. Even as I write this I’m listening to Ask Tell again!
I
Bravo Ms Noyes - more please!
Edit: it’s been only four weeks and I’ve listened to this again but this time in tandem with Ask Tell, switching between the two. I bloody love these - awesome!

Loved hearing Rebecca's side!
After listening to all the others in this series;
Ask, Tell.
Ask me Again.
If the Shoe Fits.
I loved going back to the very beginning and hearing Rebecca's side of things! It's an absolute must read/hear. You could even start with this book and move to the others.
Abby Craden was fabulous as always .. hope she does the next E.J Noyes book!
Also hope E.J decides to write another in this series .. perhaps a few years after If the Shoe Fits!
