Summary

A dazzling Audible Original written by Natalie Cooper, performed by Jenna Coleman (Victoria, The Cry)

Iris Nightingale is more than okay. She has her life planned out to a perfect schedule. Work, run, sleep, repeat. She spends her quiet Friday nights sitting alone on a bench in the park, trying to push back the memories that no amount of running can help her escape.

But one evening, there’s someone else on her bench - Hunter. Tall, wry and infuriating: everything about him gets under Iris’s skin. Little does she know that he's about to upset more than just her routines...

Hired as a consultant at the firm where Iris works as engineering manager, Hunter has a knack for knowing just what to say to irritate her, and Iris can’t help rising to the spark in his eyes each time.

Sent away on a work trip together, Iris is taken out of her comfort zone. As their connection deepens, will Iris finally be able to face the memories that have been haunting her for years? Can her blossoming relationship with Hunter survive some brutal truths?

Only one thing is certain: The spark between them is beyond Iris’s expertise, and there's no running away from it.

Gorgeous

I absolutely loved this - it's not your typical romance book and is all the better for that. I love how the depth to the story gradually reveals itself. I don't think I'll ever forget this book. I will be seeking out more books from this author.

Moving and heartwarming

I loved it! A gorgeous book, really well performed. The romance was built up perfectly and I was so invested in Iris and Hunter. A book with a lot of depth and a lot of heart.

Beautifully written and presented

I adored this book! The chemistry and banter between Iris and Hunter was just perfect (as was the spice!) I really cared about the characters and felt that I was on a journey with them. The narration was brilliantly done and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Jenna Coleman’s narration of this story was exceptional

I loved the story which was well written by Natalie Cooper and narrated by Jenna Coleman.
It had plenty of twists and turns; being a man that loves listening to the likes of one flew over the cuckoo’s nest and the godfather, I’d had heard so many good things about this book and thinking it was not my cup of tea that I’d give it a go, I was delighted I did, it had me hooked from the beginning (thanks to its narrator) and was one of my best audiobooks…please keep this to yourselves as I wouldn’t like people to think I’d turned soft.

Jenna Coleman saved this.

Iris is incredibly annoying. Hunter is creepy and would be straight in front of HR for inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.
The storyline just drags on and on.
I hope they paid the voice actor well because without her I would have given up on this.
It is as if someone watched a Korean romance series and then removed all the charm and transcribed it into English.
The interactions just don’t make any sense. Nobody can even breathe without paragraphs of overanalysing it.
I admire the writer for staying awake and finishing this.
