Summary

The Zondervan Biblical and Theological Lectures series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, Isaiah 40-66: Audio Lectures includes high-quality live recordings of college-level lectures that cover the important points from each subject as well as relevant material from other sources.

Isaiah wrestles with the realities of people who are not convicted by the truth but actually hardened by it and a God whose actions sometimes seem unintelligible, or, even worse, who appears to be absent. Yet Isaiah penetrates these experiences to see a greater reality. Isaiah portrays God's rule over history and his capacity to take the worst of human actions and use them for good. He declares the truth that even in the darkest hours, the Holy One of Israel is infinitely trustworthy.

Isaiah 40-66: Audio Lectures features Old Testament scholar John Oswalt teaching through the book of Isaiah in short, engaging, and challenging lessons. Based on Oswalt's Isaiah commentary in the NIV Application Commentary series, these lessons bring the meaning of Isaiah into the 21st century. As Oswalt works through the book passage-by-passage, he comments on the text itself and then explores issues in Israel's culture and in ours that help us understand the meaning of each passage.

Excellent

I have enjoyed and learnt from both parts of John’s helpful study in Isaiah. All I can say is a big big thank. May God reward his faithfulness. Alan.

Fantastic

If you want to study the book of Isaiah in the Bible, this audiobook is a fantastic help. The author breaks down the book into individual chapters and explains them clearly and accurately.

The ‘bite-size pieces’ make Isaiah much easier to understand by setting him in context both of biblical history and his own time. The author makes each chapter easy to understand and I highly recommend this audiobook.
