Summary

Number one best-selling author and ultimate thriller writer Jeffery Deaver returns with a new Lincoln Rhyme investigation.

Rhyme and Amelia Sachs' latest case: catching a terrifying killer targeting couples...

The happiest time of their lives - will be their last.

William and Anna went to collect her engagement ring. One and a half carats, almost flawless. But the Promisor had other ideas for their future.... Their murder - and that of the diamond cutter they were visiting - is only the first of a series of macabre attacks. Someone is targeting couples just as they start their lives together.

Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs, newly married themselves, are on the hunt. But the killer is hunting down any witnesses who can help them. He has promised one thing: to destroy. Rhyme and Sachs will have to use all their own skills and determination to break his vow.

Brilliant plot

Took me a little time to settle into the story, but once I did it was really gripping. Great plot and well narrated

The best Lincoln book since the second!

Twists and turns and a real thriller aspect with loathsome villains and edge of your seat moments

Good but now as intricate

Not bad but seemed to lack the complexity of the other books. seemed to go on and on with too many of the characters and the more of the main plot than I really care for. in fact Sachs Nd rhyme seemed like they were discovering everything after the fact.

Another Deaver diamond!

As long as Jeffery Deaver can keep writing Lincoln Rhyme novels of this quality, there is no danger of the characters becoming stale, unlike others I could mention.

The plot twists and turns, to keep you listening attentively, from the very beginning to the very last words. A real gem of a book!

Monotonous voice

A return to the great team of Linc and Amelia. Another intricately plotted , twisting story. I just wish Jeff would drop the deadpan monotone and put a bit of life in it. He does well with differentiating the various characters, but the way he drops his voice at the end of every sentence gets a bit wearing/

Captivating

The story line is a wonderful mix of sub plots with some modern day issues. Jeff Harding as good as ever. Great variety of voices, superbly portrayed.

Have very much enjoyed this series, if you are looking for a James Patterson/Alex Cross style fix then can recommend.

Well narrated and great plot twists.
