Summary
Wilhelm Hauff wurde am 29. November 1802 in Stuttgart geboren. Er studierte Theologie und Philosophie in Tübingen und arbeitete später als Hauslehrer. Er veröffentlichte Romane und Novellen, bis heute bekannt ist er jedoch durch seine Märchen. Sie erschienen 1826 - 1828 in drei Märchenalmanachen, in denen der Autor die einzelnen Märchen durch eine Rahmengeschichte verbunden hat. Wilhelm Hauff starb 1827 im Alter von 25 Jahren an einem Nervenfieber.
