Alte Geschichtsschreiber haben ausgesagt, dass Graf Adalbert, der durch den schändlichen Verrat des Mainzer Bischofs Hatto in seines Feindes Gewalt gekommen war, dort in seinem eigenen Haus enthauptet worden sei.
