About this listen

If you're incapable of telling the truth, then ensure you are the Last One To Lie…

Fear and dread fill Matt Walker's veins as he returns to his West London apartment. He promised himself things would be different this time, yet here he was again—haunted by the same demons and sins of his past.

Before long, Lisa and baby George join him in the idyllic village they so hoped would be their fresh start. But all is not as it seems; shadows lurk behind closed doors and Matt is convinced he is being watched.

Then Lisa makes a discovery which throws her life into turmoil, her world spinning out of control. Little does she know how far-reaching its consequences will be.

Hannah and Tom Wells, the local neighborhood watch coordinators, were supposed to be their saviors, but it soon becomes clear that danger lurks in their friendly welcome—could their deepest fears be coming true?

And to their horror, the family they thought they had escaped appeared to be coming back into their lives…

Did they ever really leave?

Disappointing.

A rather disappointing end to the trilogy, especially when the first two were so much better & promised a good ending.

Firstly, all the lies - yes, I get that that is part of the point but in real life, every character wouldn’t be lying to every other person, keeping what could be lifesaving information from others because...why?? Just so that it fitted the narrative! It became highly implausible & slightly ridiculous.

And why the need to repeat what's already happened so often? If you've read / listened to the first two, you don't need these long & detailed 'recaps', & if you haven't read / listened to the first two, why would you start with part 3? That became rather tedious & the story became very predictable.

The ending leaves it open for a possible revisit in the future but frankly, I'll leave it here thanks.

Brilliant finale to a great series of books!

Fantastic twist at the end did not expect it to end how it did. Extremely well written.

A twist I did not see coming

I loved the first and second audio versions of this book. This one took a while to get used to as there are more characters narrated rather than just Matthew in the previous stories.
I was so shocked at the ending!
Great story and narration, I would definitely recommend this book series

Very Disappointed

This is the third in a trilogy of audio books. The first one was brilliant, I couldn’t put it down. I ordered book 2 and that was the same. It followed on perfectly from the first, it has twists and turns, I was glued to the story. So when I had finished it, I was eager for the last audiobook. What a disappointment, it goes over and over what happened in the previous books. I tried to persevere but it’s not for me.
