About this listen

Number-one best-selling Author Stephen King returns with a brand-new novel about the secrets we keep buried and the cost of unearthing them.

Sometimes growing up means facing your demons.

The son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. Born with an unnatural ability his mum urges him to keep secret, Jamie can see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can learn. But the cost of using this ability is higher than Jamie can imagine as he discovers when an NYPD detective draws him into the pursuit of a killer who has threatened to strike from beyond the grave.

Later is Stephen King at his finest, a terrifying and touching story of innocence lost and the trials that test our sense of right and wrong. With echoes of King's classic novel It, Later is a powerful, haunting, unforgettable exploration of what it takes to stand up to evil in all the faces it wears.

Loved it

Super story slightly slow to start but just getting better all the time, maybe Stephens not the greatest but very intriguing never the less, very good narrator.

Another great listen.

I have never enjoyed the horror genre, but after listening to one of my wife’s Stephen King books, I have thoroughly enjoyed this one.
The style of writing is right up my street and I shall certainly be listening to as many of these books as I can get.

A nice little King story

This was a nicely simmering tale. A little gem told in a way that only SK can deliver; chilling, dark, worrying and has you longing for a glimmer of hope. The narration was very good as well. Pretty perfectly executed.

Refreshing story

This book was well worth a listen, one I won’t remember for too long though thoroughly enjoyed the audio as I’ve been driving. The performance is perfect and went well with the script. Another decent story by Stephen King, and really well narrated. I’d deffo recommend

A cracking good listen!

The usual high standard of writing and storytelling from Stephen King, and absolutely great narration from Seth Numrich. I’d look for other audiobooks narrated by him because he has a good voice and pitch-perfect delivery. Sometimes narrator casting feels a bit off on Audible because the voice artist isn’t the right age for the character, but that’s not the case here. Highly recommend this audiobook!

Good beginning...

I must admit to feeling slightly short changed by this one. I found it an enjoyable read but it seems to be the beginning of a story rather than a full novel in itself. Perhaps because it’s so short compared to King’s usual books.
