Summary
Former Air Force Combat Rescue Officer, Rafe Cross, has seen it all, not only while in uniform but as an operative on the elite Maverick Ops security team that has a reputation of doling out hard justice. Amazing romantic suspense!
Just the right amount of romance and thrills had me glued to this listen! Delores Fossen is a master at this kind of story, and she had me from the start. Rafe is a retired Maverick Elite operative, but even with his history, nothing could have prepared him for what was found in his hometown. Bones are uncovered, and he and Bree, the sheriff think it may be Teresa, their friend who had gone missing years ago. But when the tests came back negative, a whole new approach to the case began. Surprises, twists and turns, betrayals and new found love all come to light in this romantic suspense. It's one that kept me guessing, the kind I love the best! A very satisfying story, I enjoyed it.
Marcus Barton tells the story, and his voices for the characters are spot on! There is a lot of people, from old to young, distraught, dangerous and passionate, and each one holds the perfect sound. I like his cadence, it's easy to listen to and he amazing at building the suspense. He made this listen fly by and I will be watching for more.

Tangled Webs
Loved this story of tangled webs and long time friendship. Bree is the sheriff that is tasked with finding out who killed her childhood best friend when bones are unearthed. Rafe is also a child hood friend of the victim and former boyfriend who’s has expertise that could help Bree with the case. Great story loved these characters and the mystery was intriguing.

Fast-paced and action-packed.
A fast-paced and action-packed book with amazing characters and a lovely romance. It is excellently narrated by Marcus Barton.

Amazing narration from Marcus Barton, who brought out the action, suspense, pace, romance and heat. Perfect.
Rafe Cross has retired from the military after a rescue went wrong. He is now part of Ruby Maverick’s group. When a body is found the Maverick group send him. The body that is uncovered is that of his former girlfriend. While the father of Tessa is at the burial site, his high school friend Sheriff Bree O’Neil arrives. The three were had been friends and it is eighteen years since Tessa went missing. Ruby had always had a crush on Rafe. Unknown to her he felt the same.
While at the grave site an explosion nearly destroys the bones and another body. That is the start of the brilliantly paced book. With more bodies turning up. Secrets and past histories come to light. Its a race against time to find the killer because Bree is now the target to be his next victim.
Rafe and Bree work together at the same time keeping the chemistry uncontrol.
Action, suspense and heat. Perfect.

Very entertaining
A great start to what will be a fabulous romantic and suspenseful series.
Rafe Cross is ex military and now working for Maverick security is brought in to be a consultant on a case in the small town he grew up in,when bones are found.
The realisation that the bones could be a woman who went missing 18 years ago..Tessa his ex girlfriend.
Bree O Neal is Sheriff in the town she grew up in and will do anything to protect the people who live there...Then bones are found and a murder mystery begins..
Discovering the bones is not only the disconcerting thing about this case because the man she has always had feelings for Rafe Cross is consulting on the case.
They will have to come together to try to solve the mystery of whose bones have been unearthed she will have to remain professional..But trying to hide her attraction to Rafe is not going to be easy.
Little does Bree know is that Rafe is feeling exactly the same as she is...their chemistry is obvious and it is only a matter of time before their passion ignites.
When more people begin to die.Its a race against time to find the killer because Bree is now the target to be his next victim.
I really enjoyed listening to this story..It did take me a little bit to get into the book but once I did and understood what was going on..I was hooked.
The Narration by Marcus Barton flowed easily and I thought he did and amazing job at playing all the characters in this story.
His voice was effortless and great to listen to.
Lone Star Rescue is a very intriguing story that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Delores Fossen's writing grabs your attention until the end.
Loved it.
