Incredible read!

"Loss" by Mark R. Williams is a poignant exploration of grief and the human experience. The narrative follows the journey of a protagonist grappling with the profound emptiness left by the death of a loved one. Williams masterfully captures the complexities of mourning, weaving together memories and reflections that resonate deeply with readers. The writing is both lyrical and raw, allowing for an intimate connection with the characters' emotions. Themes of love, memory, and healing permeate the story, making it a resonant read for anyone who has faced loss. Overall, "Loss" is a beautifully crafted tale that invites reflection on the fragility of life and the enduring strength of human connections.

A great short story

This is a great short story that had me on the edge of my seat for 30 minutes wondering where it would go next and really had me thinking how could someone do that…. Then the end cleared things up.

Very descriptive -enjoyed

Not as dark as I thought it would be… I enjoyed the story and the fact it covered the abuse from a male perspective. Well written and I would recommend if you have an open mind and want to listen to something different.

Awesome short story!!!

I have a deep appreciation for short stories, particularly those in the thriller and horror genres. The constant buildup to the finale captured my attention throughout. I especially enjoyed 'Loss' as I've visited its setting multiple times, making the narrator's descriptions feel incredibly authentic. I thought I had predicted the direction of 'Loss' and guessed the ending, but I was completely wrong—in the best way possible. The storytelling and narration were brilliant!

A dark tale of a tormented soul

The atmosphere developed in this short story pulled me in immediately. The soundscape was immersive, but not oppressive, and let the story take centre stage, mirroring the characters emotional journey.
The writing was thoughtful. The author developed believable characters in a short time and made me quickly empathise with the protagonist.
There were some tricky issues broached: domestic abuse, animal abuse and bullying.
Overall a thoughtful and provocative story on some difficult topics.

Ckever deceptive writing.

Good build up descriptions deep enought for you to build your own picture. Loved the twist at the end. Knowing alice holt helped me see the journey for sarah.

Good Story, shame about the sound effects.

This is a really good short story with a very well developed character, it is very well written and well narrated by Elliott Crossley. with a nice twist at the end. Overall a recommended listen. The only down point for me was the use of dreadful sound effects. The ambient sound was good but the so called footsteps were annoying and sounded more like someone eating noisily with their mouth open.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.

5 mins in and I am drawn in.

I only wanted to listen for 5 minutes just after work and the next minute I knew I had finished it already.

Extremely well written, with relatable characters.
