Summary

This book that has shifted the shape of whole continents on the mental map of my own past…I read this book like it was a song

The whole time I listened to the reading of this book it sang to me. It blew the dust out of dark places and held my hand while it shone a light on hidden secrets. It was beautiful and painful to read and I wish, wish, wish that I had never read it. But only because I want to feel again all the feelings you have when you read, for the first time, a book you know you will revisit many more times in your reading life. It ignited fury in me. And it ignited hope. I am grateful that I got to hear the author reading it out loud but even if a stranger had read it her voice would have been audible in the reading of it. This is an exceptional first novel. I hope the first of many. Bravo and thank you Megan.
