Tummy Troubles?
This is the second book in Susi Hawke's Lone Star Brothers series, and while it could be enjoyed as a standalone, I think you'll find more enjoyment by reading/listening along in order. The previous book introduces the alpha brothers Beaumont, his twin Dallas, their omega sibling Houston, and other secondary characters, as well as Beau's mates Lukas and Gideon.
In this book, we meet humble omega Kyle who is the receptionist at Dallas's gym, and friend to Lucas, Gideon, and also Houston.
Dallas has been lusting after the bashful young omega for the two years he has known him, but has had to watch him fall into a controlling relationship with another alpha. This relationship has now become abusive to the point of physical harm, causing Kyle to wonder if he can do better.
Dallas finally gets his chance to woo the timid omega when Kyle is badly beaten and thrown out of the house by his soon to be ex-boyfriend Fred, a cop with a Napoleon complex. Kyle thrives under Dallas's care and was already taking advantage of his services as Personal Trainer.
When Kyle goes into heat, Dallas is persuaded to knot him as the omega advises him that he is barren. You might guess what happens next, but it doesn't become apparent for a few weeks. Once the pregnancy is confirmed, Fred somehow finds out and there is a slim possibility that he might be the baby's father rather than Dallas.
Who is the baby's real father? Can Kyle keep Fred out of his life with Dallas and their friends' help?
I recommend you read/listen along and find out if Dallas and Kyle get their HEA with their daughter.

So good
I loved not only the book but the audible book just gave new depth to the story. I have fallen in love with John Solo’s voice so I am going to have to go back get more. Susi Hawke has always been a one click for me.

An interesting story richly enhanced by narration
The second of the Lone Star brothers finds love.
Dallas has been interested in Kyle for a while (about 2 years). Sadly, Kyle has low self-esteem didn't believe Dallas was really interested. Instead, he ends up dating a soon-to-be abusive alpha. Eventually, Kyle's situation becomes untenable and he's forced to stay with and rely on Dallas. As they live together, Kyle begins to develop more confidence in himself, but just as he gets more comfortable, he find himself pregnant.
It's a fun story that really benefits from John Solo's multilayered performance! He is so good with the characters tones and their feelings - you knew when Kyle was nervous, when Dallas was joking (and when he wasn't, e.g. with Fred ...). He really brought the story to life; I especially loved his characterisation of Houston (and can't wait to listen to that).
This is definitely the best way to experience the series, with John Solo :)

Some more great characters and narration
Really enjoying this series so far. Susi Hawke is one of my favourite mpreg authors.
Book two follows characters that we were introduced to in book one, Kyle and Beau's brother, Dallas. There attraction was clear in book one and we get a chance to catch up with them two years later in this outing. Kyle has a partner that he lives with, Fred, and is still working at the Gym. Dallas is still trying to get Kyle to take him serious when he says that he's interested in him. We have a lot taking place in this book with both men. The two men make a bet about whether Dallas can train Kyle and help him to lose weight/inches and wins a date if he's successful. In the 8 weeks that he has, a lot takes place for both of them but Kyle has a big trauma to recover from as well as a heat that he needs an alpha's help with.
All of the characters return in this story, just with out focus on a different couple. All brothers make an appearance and I love the support, compassion and fight that they provide for each other.
Kyle and Dallas together are a lot of fun, especially when Kyle starts to come out of his shell. They laugh and joke with each other, often just with silly comments made purely to make the other smile. There is a lot that happens in this story but I never felt lost in all that was going on. Susi has written it brilliantly, letting everyone have their time and it flows really well. You can always feel Dallas' protective nature towards Kyle through his thoughts and actions but it is wonderful to read as Kyle's confidence builds with certain things going on throughout the book.
John does a wonderful job, bringing this story and the characters to life. It's easy to feel connected to everything going on and the emotions of our MC's as he speaks their inner monologues and interactions with others. He gives each character their own voice so I have no trouble telling everyone apart and I really enjoyed the fun he brought to Kyle and Dallas' relationship.
This is a great follow up to book one and I recommend this one to fans of that and Susi's. I'm looking forward to listening to book three!

Fantastic!!
John solo did an amazing job bringing this story to life. I think the characters voices were just right. The emotion he put into this book was amazing, it really sucked you into the story and the emotions of the characters. I laughed out loud at the funny scene's because the way John says it makes it exta funny.

Just okay
***Trigger warning Domestic Abuse***
This is the 2nd book in the Lonestar Brothers series but can be read as a stand-alone.
This book starts with Dallas and his employee and friend from the gym he owns, Kyle an omega who is in an abusive relationship with a policeman boyfriend.
Kyle’s confidence has been eroded over time time with his boyfriend’s Mental and physical abuse which culminates Kyle being hospitalised.
It takes this savage attack for Kyle to realise his boyfriend isn’t who is best for him and maybe Dallas is.
Whilst this book addresses important issues and I usually enjoy the Alpha/Omega trope this book didn’t do anything for me.
I felt it was two dimensional and not much world building was done.
John Solo is a favourite narrator who is extremely versatile and I have many of his other audiobooks. I have to give him credit for the way he was able to give each and every character a different voice, but for some reason in this audiobook the accent of the characters grated on me.
