About this listen

The Beach In Winter

Scarlett Lyon’s charmed life has taken a dramatic turn. Becoming her nephew’s guardian, moving to a cold Atlantic beach, and processing her sister’s death is overwhelming. The only escape is watching Parish, the mysterious neighbor who never smiles.

The River In Spring

Falling out of a tree at the feet of a naked woman isn’t Nobel Lyon’s usual M.O. Preferring the company of his dog, the forty-three-year-old is more the Invisible Man type. But every man has limits. Golden girl Dove, with an angel’s voice, could be his.

The Sky In Summer

Months away from a life in Paris, Montana realtor Van Lyon runs into his kindergarten girlfriend. Layla, a sarcastic mother of teenage twins, likes being in sweatshirts and sweatpants and eating out of a pan. No BS given. None tolerated.

The Leaves In Autumn

Single father Aargon Lyon isn’t looking for a relationship. First, he has to figure himself out. Only best friend Barbra’s wit and irreverent sense of humor is keeping him sane. Lately she’s the surprise star of his fantasies.

Family adventures

The Lyon Family is full of so much love and joy, you can’t help but fall in love with all of them.
They each have dealt with tragedy and grief, some more-so than others. But they each open up and find love in interesting and unique ways. Each Lyon sibling has their own unique journey to finding love, and each story brings you closer to the entire family. You get to watch all the children grow, and become more involved.
This was such an emotional and inspiring story.

Each book had wonderful narration, that brought the characters all to life and made the emotional connection to them that much stronger.

Great Boxed Set

This Boxed Set includes four novels:

The Beach In Winter: Parish and Scarlett's story is beautifully written, sweet, emotional, and heartwarming. My heart broke for Parish. He is handsome. Scarlett is smart, strong, and caring. Her nephew Sam is such a great kid. I loved to follow them in their very beautiful story. The supporting characters are amazing. I loved the family bond in this story. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did a fantastic job with the narration. This is my favorite in the series, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

The River In Spring: The story is beautifully written, sweet and heartwarming. Nobel and Dove are such wonderful characters. They are opposites attract, but they definitely complement each other. Stella Bloom and Lance Greenfield did a great job with the narration.

The Sky In Summer: Van and Layla's story is sweet and heartwarming. Layla, a single Mom, is beautiful, and caring. Van is handsome, and charming. They are opposites attract, but they are perfect together. Zachary Webber and Stella Hunter did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend this series.

The Leaves In Autumn: Aargon and Barbra's story is beautifully written, emotional, and heartwarming. Aargon is such an handsome man, enigmatic, and caring. Barbra is beautiful, kind, and smart. The storyline is filled with drama. This is an excellent friends to lovers romance. Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.

Great family series

The Beach in Winter
Narrated by Maxine Mitchell
4 stars for story / 5 stars for performance

Parrish is the definition of a tortured MMC. After losing his young son in a traumatic way, he has moved cross the country and isolated himself. Scarlett has taken on her nephew after her sister and husband died in a car accident. In an attempt to keep his life normal, she has moved into her late sister’s house, right next door to Parrish. Their attraction to each other is believable and the relationship between them moves very fast. I truly appreciate the relationship between Parrish and Sam as they connect in their grief. It’s a sweet story about recovery and love after loss on many levels. This will have you in all your feels!

Maxine Mitchell could read the phone book and still be able to give every name and business their own unique personality. As far as I’m concerned, this woman can do no wrong in this career!!

The River in Spring
Narrated by Stella Bloom & Lance Greenfield
3 stars for story / 4.5 stars for performance

Nobel and Dove have an unorthodox beginning. It was a little hard to get over his actions in the beginning of this story but I powered through because I enjoyed the first book so much and wanted to give this one a chance. It did get better but Nobel’s character never fully outgrows the immaturity in his personality. Dove is the redeeming factor in this story. I love her character so much and her willingness to embrace their attraction and the feelings of rightness she has with him. The rest of the family continues to grow on me and I couldn’t wait to continue on with their stories.

The narration was done so well. Lance Greenfield really embraced Nobel’s character flaws and brought them to life, especially when he is drunk and/or angry…those emotions come through so well in his performance. I also feel Stella Bloom was magical and her voice had the perfect lilt to portray a musical character like Dove. I really believed she was her character and it made the book that much better!

The Sky in Summer
Narrated by Zachary Webber & Stella Hunter
4.5 stars for story / 5 stars for performance

I could not wait for Van’s story while listening to the first two books. I love a reformed player and he definitely fits the bill. Add in a feisty, confident single mom (Layla) and you get a fun story full of witty banter. I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions during the story. At its core, this is a heart warming story about finding love later in life and finally being able to admit it to yourself. Once again, the Lyon family antics are so lovely and it’s nice to be able to catch up with the couples from the previous books.

Zachary Webber and Stella Hunter did an amazing job with this narration. I really felt they connected with their characters and brought them to life so vividly. They both did an amazing job with side characters and when voicing their main character counterparts. Very impressive performances.

The Leaves in Autumn
Narrated by Jason Clarke & Samantha Brentmoor
4 stars for story / 5 stars for performance

I loved Argon’s story. I’ve been waiting for his story from the beginning of the series. He has had my heart just hearing about his story from the periphery but learning more in his book really broke my heart. I love how the author handled the delicate situation of mental health and how this father and son communicated throughout. Barbara was perfect for Argon and I absolutely loved the friends to lovers aspect of this one. Their verbally sparring was so much fun!

As soon as I heard Jason Clarke’s voice he was Argon for me. He has an amazing versatility and although I’ve listened the three books narrated by him this week he is able to fully embrace each different character fully. Samantha Brentmoor was amazing as always!! She has a knack for performing her characters in such a way it feels effortless. This one was such a pleasure to listen to!

I feel like part of the Lyon Family!

This is everything I love in romance. A family saga that is nothing short of beautiful and each book is like coming home:

The Beach in Winter: Parish Adams has basically secluded himself since the death of his son. Unable to deal with his broken heart, he has taken to his beach in Maine. Scarlett Lyon has come to Maine to take care of her nephew, Sam. The untimely death of her sister and brother-in-law has taken it's toll on her and Sam. But Solace at the beach, and meeting her neighbor has brought a new light in all of three of their lives. Three broken souls. Will they be able to mend each other?

The River in Spring: Nobel is an attorney, a little older and pretty much set in his ways. He lives near his family, and they are all very close. When he meets Dove, his life is going to change. Dove is a little younger, and is much more carefree. Raised by her grandparents, she loves with her whole heart and is loyal to a fault. You would think they wouldn't get along, but there is a spark that is undeniable. But even though opposites attract and life seems to be great, there is always something that will throw a wrench in it.

The Sky in Summer: Van and Layla's story does just that! What happens when the love from your kindergarten class comes back into your life? Layla is first to recognize Van when they have a chance meeting but quickly the two are inseparable. Layla isn't looking for a relationship. She has twin boys, and ex-husband and no time for it. Good thing Van is leaving for Paris in a couple of months. Right?

The Leaves in Autumn: Aargon and Barbra. These two have been friends for years and have a very special relationship. Aargon is heartbroken, and it's taking him a long time to get over his past. What keeps him going? His son and therapy. Barbra has a dream to travel and live in Europe. These two are very different, but their time together is fun and their banter hysterical. Nothing more than friendship can ever take place though, right? Until it does. Now with feelings, these two have to wade their way through the murky water and figure out if it is really more.

Add on the amazing casting that Leslie Pike has. Joe Arden, Maxine Mitchell, Stella Bloom, Lance Greenfield, Zachary Webber, Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, and Samantha Brentmoor all bring such incredible emotional value to each story, creating amazing characters and not only giving me a new family to love, but all the feels each romance has. It's incredible! Grab this series now!!

Lyon Siblings

Amazing collection of 4 love stories set in the Lyon family world. 4 siblings, 4 heartwarming stories of 4 couples navigating grief, loss, parenting, fame, social anxiety and past decisions but also new discoveries, hope and overall change.

The Beach in Winter

A story of loss, grief, love and hope. Two (three) grieving hearts meet in a mostly deserted Maine beach. Together they start healing but broken hearts don’t always mend right.
Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchel were so good as Parrish and Scarlett in this fantastic story.

The River in Spring

Nobel was a little different to the book boyfriends we read. Introverted, overthinker and shy. Dove, on the other hand is outspoken, outgoing and loves living in the moment. It was so refreshing to listen.
Lance Greenfield and Stella Bloom really made Nobel and Dove shine with the brilliant performance.

The Sky in Summer

Van, the Don Juan, finally meets the woman that will tame his wild heart, Layla. Or maybe they had already met 35 years previously and she owned his heart even since.
Zachary Webber and Stella Hunter were amazing as Van and Layla. Loved the French accent in Zachary’s voice. Ohh laa laa

The Leaves in Autumn

Aargon and Barbra’s story was so beautiful and resonates with some many others out there.
Single parenthood after a tragic death of the other parent and living a fiercely single life is no mean feat but finding love later in life, specially after so much has happened is what so many wish for.
Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor have brought tears to my eyes with their portrayal of Aargon and Barbra. Not just tears of sadness but tears of joy too. They were that good acting Leslie Pike’s words.

I had the best of time with the Lyon Family. Their love, their banter, their support was everything I could have wished for in this amazing feel good box set.

4.5 Stars!

This boxset provided all the feels. It had everything, from emotional, heart-breaking moments, all the way to fun and easy banter between the characters!

The Beach In Winter: After Scarlett Lyon’s life is turned upside down by the sudden accident of her sister, she now must take on a life she wasn’t prepared for. She finds herself relocating to Martin’s Beach and becoming the legal guardian for her nephew. There she meets writer Parish Adams, who is grieving his son and fighting his own inner demons, whilst hiding from the world. This book was so heart-breaking, yet beautiful. At the heart of it, it is a story about loss, about friendship, and about companionship. It was overall well written, and I loved reading about the journeys the characters went on. It felt real and believable how the story progressed.

The River In Spring: Nobel is the introverted, quiet, older-man who loves and enjoys calm and solitude. He likes his life just as it is. Dove, however, is fun, she’s outgoing and lives life to the fullest. Their meet-cute at the beginning is hilarious. They meet and fall in love and have such a great relationship. However, Dove is an aspiring singer who dreams of making it big. Can they make their love work when they live such opposite lives?

The Sky In Summer: This is a different take on the friends-to-lovers, and second chance romance tropes. Layla and Van first met in kindergarten but didn’t grow up together. As adults, Van is living the bachelor life, and is ready to leave Montana for Paris, France. Layla is a single mom of two teenage boys and is ready to start dating again. They meet again and reconnect. And they have great, and instant chemistry. However, they are both looking for something different from each other and their lives don’t seem to favour a relationship. Will this get in their way? Overall, this book was fun to read and had me laughing out loud several times. I definitely enjoyed it more this time around.

The Leaves In Autumn: This book takes us on an emotional but fun journey as Aargon and Barbra navigate their slow-burn friends to lover’s relationship. Aargon is a single-dad (of an adult) and he is still struggling with grief from a tragedy and trauma in his past. Whilst Barbra has dreams of travelling. They have been friends for years and their long-term friendship and Barbra’s travel plans makes their new budding feelings for each other harder to maneuver. Importantly, I enjoyed how Leslie Pike explored the grief that Aargon suffered and how therapy was highlighted in this book. The banter between all the characters, but especially between our mains were top tier. In particular, I enjoyed Barbra’s wit. The writing is also great and easy to get into.

This boxset offers narrations from a host of wonderful narrators that include Maxine Mitchell, Lance Greenfield, Stella Bloom, Zachary Webber, Stella Hunter, Samantha Brentmoor, and Jason Clarke. They all brought the story and characters to life. I really felt all the feels, all the emotions, and all the love from the narrations. It was truly a joy to listen to!
