About this listen

Richard

My father needs a pawn as he plays King with the Irish Mafia.

Releasing me from the asylum walls that kept me from my revenge, I'm free to play a few games of my own.

Games I plan on winning.

The taste of revenge sits sweetly on my tongue as I watch her, Claire, my new obsession.

I keep her safe in a cage made of glass.

Safe from the cravings she stirs in me.

I watch her, my hunger growing with every move she makes.

Claire

He keeps me safe in a cage made of glass.

Yet, I never feel safe.

The heat in his gaze burns my flesh.

His hunger stirs a craving deep inside of me.

But craving a man like him is dangerous.

He's everything dark and wrong in my world.

He’s everything I shouldn’t want.

The only thing keeping his touch from my skin is this glass cage he holds the key to.

Until his control snaps and one touch threatens to shatter us both.

Unique Take on a Mafia Romance....

Mafia Games is book three in the Young Irish Rebels series and in my opinion is definitely best appreciated if read or listened to after the other books in the series. This book focuses on Richard who has spent the last several years in an asylum where he was put by his father and now he is being released, also by his father, so he can do his bidding. Richard decides that he has some things that he is going to tend to of his own though, namely taking Claire and keeping her prisoner in his home in a glass cage while he goes about getting his revenge on others, while she wonders why she is there.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series so I jumped at the chance to listen to this book. It took me quite a while to get into the story line as I just couldn't connect with it or the characters. I did find myself enjoying it more after the halfway mark but I would have liked to have more of the romance aspect of the story and I really just wasn't feeling anything between Richard and Claire on that front. I do think parts of the story line were interesting and had promise but I think for me they were lost in some of the other aspects of the story that the author chose to focus on that lost my interest and had me zoning out. Overall this was not my favorite book in the series but the narration was definitely well done and a highlight of this experience for me. Scott Rose and Ada Sinclair did a wonderful job bringing this story to light and I would be interested in listening to more of their work in the future #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock

So so so so loved the dual narration of Scott Rose and Ada Sinclair

Richard is an O'Reagan has been locked away in an asylum for three years by his father, who is a cruel controlling man and also a King of the Irish Mafia
When he is freed, he is set on revenge. Richard kidnaps Claire. She depends on everything from Richard. It's a matter of controlling her, to break her,
This mafia story is brutal, twisted, bloody, its psychologically tense, anger issues, killings, kidnapping, torture. A rollercoaster ride of suspense, betrayal, secrets, lies, and revelations. Once I started the book, I simply couldn’t put it down.

Get ready for a wild ride!

Dark, depraved, kidnapping, mafia..what more can I ask for when picking up a listen by the amazing Vi Carter? This is the third book in the Young Irish Rebels series and it's absolutely captivating. Carter outdoes herself with this one. Richard recently released from prison is making his mark already. Kidnapping the beautiful Claire, and putting her in a glass cage seems to be the revenge he needs to make him feel redeemed. Claire has suffered a lot in her life, and now this latest development is surely her end. But these two lost souls are finding out that they may need each other. Twisted? Yes, this story has it's moments. Betrayals? Absolutely! Who can Richard trust? Any of the other mafia kings? Grab hold of your seat, this one is a wild ride of suspense! I loved every minute of this one, and I hope the excitement continues!

Scott Rose and Ada Sinclair give us a extraordinary performance. I love these two! Rose comes out full force as Richard, putting forth all the anger and vengeance he can. Yet he can be so tender when it comes to Claire! Sinclair becomes Claire, a little introverted, and we hear her come out of her shell and take control of her life. This narration is fantastic and should not be missed.

Dark & Suspenseful

Mafia Games, the third book in the Young Irish Rebels, is a brilliantly written, dark captive mafia romance. I've been following the series, and with each instalment, Vi Carter's written style is developing and becoming even more effective. One thing I've always liked about this series is the authenticity of the characters, the flawed, ruthless, cold, complicated, and damaged. Richard is by far more brutal than Jack and Shay. Aside from vengeance, the details of the kidnapping and holding Claire captive were obscured. However, as the story unfolded, so were his reasons and motives behind his actions. Richard and Claire's story is my favourite in this series. They both are uniquely fascinating, two damaged souls' captives of their circumstances, coming together in the murky shadows behind glass walls. Their story is beautiful, raw, and dark. The secondary plotline is as riveting as the romance component, centred around the O'Reagan Mafia family, wrapped in intrigue, death, schemes, betrayals, suspense, and unexpected twits. The ending was absolutely terrific, exciting, and thrilling; I had no idea how things would turn out. The twist in apologue was brilliant; it got me super excited for the next book. Richard's father, Liam O'Reagan, the head of the Irish Mafia, is a pitiless and cold-blooded man; hopefully, in the next book, I'll read all about his demise.

Outstanding narration by Scott Rose and Ada Sinclair. They did a fantastic job capturing and portraying the characters' complex personalities and emotions, especially Ada Sinclair. I thoroughly enjoyed both of their performances; they were believable in their roles, and they made the story more engaging. Mafia Games was a marvellous addition to the Young Irish Rebels, one I'll highly recommend.

Good performance

Was a good add to the stories. I just wasn’t a big fan of Richard and took me a little longer to get into story.

Was easy to listen to though.

Dark Irish Mafia Romance

Mafia Games by Vi Carter is a dark Irish mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Scott Rose and Ada Sinclair. This is the third book in the Young Irish Rebels series.

I absolutely love Vi's books. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the chemistry between Richard and Claire. Their relationship is messy, but you couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Mafia Boss to be released on audio so I can get Cillian and Dana's story.

Scott and Ada did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story a life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, captive romances, or romantic suspense.

Needs one against the world to stop repeating

The First books were great but the story line is now getting boring, it is set up for the next book I am hoping it’s going to be better.
