Not enough helpful content

I bought this audio book expecting it to be full of good ways to teach my child maths. Sadly the majority of the book is taken up with lamenting the maths education system in America. The pressure that teachers are under, the lack of maths training for teachers, poor student behaviour, drill and kill approach of many maths books, best way to support teachers (or complain about them to the head / governors), how a child failing at maths might well be a genius if only the system would recognise and encourage them... you get the picture. (The author had a very bad experience with her child in school and ended up switching to a private school).

There are a few good suggestions for activities and games to do with kids somewhere around the middle of the book (hence 2 star review), but I can listen for hours on end and not pick up any tips for supplementing my child's education. Also the target age range is perhaps too broad: 2 to 10 years old.

In summary, not enough material that helps me to supplement my child's maths education and too much complaining about the education system.
