Prolonged or acute periods of stress, and chronic illness, can cause the body’s autonomic nervous system to become dysregulated – in other words stuck in the ‘fight or flight’ response. We significantly support our own healing process when we learn how to calm our nervous system down and take it out of the ‘Stress Response’. This allows our system to return to equilibrium and helps to retrain our body/mind to function in a more balanced way.
