Summary

Jason Byrne is 17. With his leaving cert under his belt but no idea what to do next, who better to ask for advice than his dad, Paddy? There’s a (very) short stint studying accountancy (he was asked to leave); a FÁS course with juvenile offenders to become a waiter that leads to an apprenticeship in Jury’s (he was the only one not in prison), and a job in a lighting warehouse (it ended with a collapsed lung). But no matter what the problem, Paddy Byrne is always ready with a wise word: ‘Sure, that’s life, son. Just don't tell your mother.’

Just great Craic as the Irish say!

As a scotsman who served his time I Govan Shipbuilders, I found this audiobook the funniest and best out of many comedian's audiobooks I've listened too. Highly recommend. Life is too short, yi gotta have a laugh!!!

If you like a laugh, get it!

Loved every minute of this hilarious audiobook, didn’t want it to end. If you like Roddy Doyle’s movie the snapper, you’ll love this. Thanks for the laughs Jason and Paddy ❤️

Heartwarming and hilarious

Jason Byrne is without doubt one of the funniest men alive and the way he tells his story will have you laughing and crying all the way through. I just loved the story of his relationship with his dad and how it has influenced him.
