Summary

After retaking High Castle and defeating Onroc, Father Nigel must face the greatest threat to the Vale in his long life.

An enemy army rides north, bent on conquest and destruction, and the most evilly Talented man in recorded history leads them. The enemy can raise the dead and has been harvesting his army for years. Relke’s predictions haven’t yet missed the mark, so Nigel is forced to believe her when she advises he needs a woman - a very specific Talented woman who has so far declined the invitation to join High Castle.

Tebbriel is a loner, preferring to maintain her distance from the Order, knowing her unique Talent would terrify them. But even she believes the uncanny accuracy of Relke’s predictions. And if the enemy manages to compromise the Vale, her home will be no more. She must spend her days playing bodyguard and trainer to one of the oldest men at High Castle, even though he doesn’t look it.

Can she endure a sentence at High Castle if Nigel promises her freedom when the conflict is over?

Mimic in the Vale

This was a very good book.Since it was the third book in a series,I wasn't sure how it might fit in.I enjoyed it though the plot was noot as tight as thee first two. This centers on Father Nigel and a bounty hunter that will save him, according to a prophecy.Narration by Jen Becker was excellent.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
