Ant Middleton

Best known for his role as Chief Instructor on SAS: Who Dares Wins (Channel 4), Ant has become a master of survival and endurance on and off-screen, spurred by his formidable career in the UK’s elite forces, including the Marines, 9 Parachute Squadron and SBS. Joining the armed forces at the age of 16, Ant eventually achieved the ‘Holy Trinity’ of the UK’s elite Forces.

With an insatiable appetite for adventure, in addition to writing two bestselling books - First Man In and The Fear Bubble - Ant has fronted several TV shows including Mutiny, which re-enacted Captain William Bligh’s voyage; survivalist programme Escape, centred on placing skilled engineers in precarious situations; Extreme Everest, where he conquered Mount Everest; and Straight Talking where he took One Direction’s Liam Payne on a thrill-seeking road trip through Namibia to get to know the ‘real Liam’.

Mara Yamauchi

Mara Yamauchi is the UK's second-fastest female marathon runner ever, with a PB of 2:23:12. She finished sixth in the 2008 Beijing Olympic marathon, was runner-up at the 2009 London Marathon, and won the bronze medal at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games in the 10,000m.

Since retiring from elite competition in 2013, Mara now works self-employed as a corporate and personal running coach, motivational speaker, and commentator.

Dr Josephine Perry

Dr Josephine Perry is a chartered sport and exercise psychologist who works with those aiming to perform at their best, either in sporting challenges or on the stage. She has worked in over 20 sports with novice athletes just starting out through to world champions trying to set new records.

Josephine helps athletes to overcome barriers to their success and teaches them mental conditioning skills to make them more comfortable and confident in their sport. She can help athletes set realistic but exciting goals for their training or sport, overcome fears or anxieties around competition, teach techniques to deal with those periods when it feels like their mind is self-sabotaging their ambitions and get an athlete to the start of their competitions feeling much more confident.

A great listen to the other side of Training

I learned so many things from just one episode.
I live how Ant makes it all so accessible and is so free to discuss mental trials and how to overcome fro

You will never get back these hours!

A poorly informed man who seems to have made a career on the back of falsehoods.
I had an open mind when I downloaded this but once more, the man who has never served in the SAS and was dishonourably discharged for striking a female, has cashed in.

Terrible

Not a podcast just the audio of him coaching a group of people wanting to run a marathon. Lots of sending people off to run 1km and then the audio cuts off and then people return out of breath. Not inspiring in anyway. Pleased I listened to this before I bought his book.

I am a fan of Ant Middleton and was expecting something more than it delivered.

Encouraging examples

Under all conditions we humans can rise above anything, with a little encouragement and mentoring we go along way! This audio gives a good real examples of triumph in every sense. Well done to all the participants in the story.

Win or learn something

I’m not a positive thinking person , giving up so easy. Listening to this giving me positive energy , thinking and motive to do more, specially the special period that we are in now.

There is one saying “win or learn”, no matter what we do in life we either learn something or win and learn something, neither way we WON

Different Ant

This is a different Ant to the one who appears on C4 SAS:WDW. Yes, it's the same person but his style is different - he's now the coach and mentor to the candidates. He's still putting them through challenging and uncomfortable experiences but he's encouraging them rather than cajoling and threatening them. I believe I could benefit from this other Ant's coaching.
