Another great story by Andrew Caldicot.

Well narrated and intriguing plot line. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Hoping there will be more to come

Challenging as an audiobook

I have read the Rotherweird series and decided I would try this when I was looking for a new audiobook.
Being completely honest, I find the pace of this book awkward for an audiobook, things move quickly and unlike reading, your attention is often split when listening. I find myself rewinding quite a lot and think I'd prefer to read this series than listen. Though I'm often amused by the voices the narrators use, I can't always keep track of who is speaking in this audiobook. I'm not sure if there are more characters or whether ones with similar voices are meeting.
Despite that, I'm intrigued by it and have a little way to go before finishing. I will look for the sequel in a text format.

Bravo Mr Caldecott

Where to start?

Typical of Andrew Caldecott's style and brilliantly so.

Where Rotherweird looks back in time, Momenticom fast forwards us into dystopian fantasy land.

Full of humour, sadness, heroes and wonderfully written characters .

Hooked from the out set, Caught out by the arrival of the ending.

So... we need the sequel.

Love love love this author’s work. More please, as soon as possible. If you enjoyed Andrew Caldecott’s Rotherweird series, you’ll enjoy this… also the narration was suberb, thank you John Hastings!

I was confused for the majority of this book

I struggled to get into this book and didn’t feel the characters were particularly likeable or well developed.
The story line was also very confusing with large parts feeling superfluous.
Personally I am not a fan of any Alice in Wonderland theme so possibly this was why I didn’t enjoy this book.

Engaging story and characters

Have loved all of the authors works to date and this does not disappoint.
Characters are relatable and the premise is fresh and enjoyable.
The whole thing is beautifully brought to life by the narrator, who has demonstrated that suiting the correct voice talent to a novel really does make or break it.
Highly recommended.

Another engaging world from the author

The Momenticon books are as well written as the Rotherworld series. Interesting slants on C.S. Lewis characters. individual character storylines with satisfying and unexpected conclusions

Totally Brillig with a Vermeer of Brilliance

That a book is supervenient on other books is no longer that novel, but the novel use of Lewis Carroll's works, works here. Further, the way that famous paintings underpin this fantasy is nothing short of fantastic. There are the usual stock Caldecott characters, such as plucky heroines and slightly wet heroes, which always appeals, as too, Caldecott's aura of whimsy. I cannot find darkness, though the drama does have such elements, as it feels so very cosy and English, a 'demn fine ripping yarn' as the nights draw in. Frankly, I love it.

what's going on?

Absolutely no idea what's going on in this book.
Is it a dream? Virtual? Magic?
No clue.
How are people popping up in the most unlikely places? How did they get there so fast? How are they communicating in a world without phones or radio? Never explained.
The narrator is very good even if the story makes no sense.
