Summary

There’s just something about “bad boys” that fascinates people.

But there’s a reason they’re called “bad boys”.

Is that why Kade, the one with the “bad boy” reputation, was murdered?

Of course, there were a lot of people who had a reason to want him dead. Like Harper, his ex-girlfriend, whose parents told her no more partying with him and put her on a short financial leash.

And Kyran, who was supposed to run the company. When Kade’s father died unexpectedly. But what about those rumors that Kade’s father had been murdered?

Was Kade involved?

Then, there was Cooper.

He never thought Kade would steal business opportunities from him. Particularly the ones Cooper had shared with him.

But that’s something else “bad boys” do.

And what about Jessica?

The roofie Kade gave her ruined her life.

All of them attended the dinner party hosted by Ivy, The CEO of Rosie’s Seafood Company. And Kade had made her look like a fool when she asked for a company loan.

Even though no one was all that sorry Kade was murdered, the killer still had to be found. Join DeeDee, Jake, Detective Murphy, and Georgie the cat, as they confront the possible killer - one of the guests at Ivy’s dinner party.

This is the 15th book in the Northwest Cozy Mystery Series by a USA Today best-selling author.

mystery

Anna Wheeler does a wonderful job of the narration. Bringing it all together, the plot the humour and characters.

I do love a good cozy mystery and this one is great.

DeeDee and Susie are catering a small dinner party for a business woman, when Kade the bad boy of the company is murdered. We have murder and humour all in one. Brilliant

Drama for dinner

I enjoyed this book. The author has crafted a well thought out plot that kept me hooked until the end. This is book fifteen in the series and how the author keeps coming up with new fresh ideas all centred around a food catering business I don't know but somehow she manages it. I think it is due to the great cast of suspects that she creates with each book that join the wonderful main characters. Each one has a believable motive for wanting the victim dead. The mystery was good, it starts with the murder and then goes back in time to explain how everybody came to be at the party and any possible motive they had for wanting him dead. I hope the author has a lot more plot ideas for this series.
DeeDee being the owner of the food catering business Delish all ways worries if she is going to serve the right food for the guest and this is doubling worrying when she receives a last minute job order and sees the guest list. Rich and famous Kade who is not only good looking but also has a bad boy reputation is attending. Along with his ex girlfriend Harper who he recently embarrassingly and publicly broke up with. Kade gets into a shouting match with the host and storms out of the diner party. Before the meal is over the police arrive at the party to say Kade had been involved in a car crash and they don't think it was an accident. With so many guests at the party who didn't like him DeeDee calls in her husband and private detective Jake to help. Was it the host who he just embarrassed in front of everybody by turning her business proposal to save her company down. Or the ex girlfriend he made a fool of? Or the Man who was supposed to run Kade's father's business after his death? Or his best friend? The man he stole lucrative business from. Even the server seemed to know Kade better than she is letting on. Can DeeDee and Jake help the police to catch the killer?
I like the narrator she has a pleasant voice that she used well.
