Murder Without Icing: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

This is the 14th of 37 Emma Lathen best sellers featuring John Putnam Thatcher, SVP of the Sloan Guaranty Trust. Professional sports. NHL hockey. Emma Lathen's witty, insightful tale about how money underpins professional sports is full of charming characters such as the TV symphony announcer who becomes an instant hit as a play-by-play hockey analyst, the scion of a legendary rich family who has an interest in a team, and more. Lathen has her regular cast of characters in full flight, with fun, insight, and more.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Please note: The audio for this title has noise issues at the beginning and end of each file/chapter.

very very disappointing

I love Emma Lathen and was thrilled to see her in audio. I was not at all thrilled to listen to this production. to start with why the musical background? It was seriously irritating and did absolutely nothing to move the story along. at intervals we got appropriate noises such as taxi noises, and sitting by the ice rink noises, really dustracting. I was not much impressed with the reader. he just carried on regardless of the meaning or setting. so one second we were listening to a guy trying to buy the team and then immediately with no break someone was talking to Clemmie, the part owner, and then we bounced off somewhere else. I read this book many years ago and enjoyed it. I still found the story line held my interest, and I'm reading another Emma Lathen on Kindle, so I still find the author enjoyable. But I couldn't finish this audio book. so very disappointing.
