Summary

The caterer had a photographic memory. The murdered art dealer had secrets. His wife had a lover.

You’re in Provence, France, and happen to see the same painting for sale by the same artist your best friend just bought from a gallery in Seattle. What would you do?

DeeDee discovers the murdered art dealer’s body and knows she needs Jake’s help. Having a private detective as your fiancé is a good thing when you’re looking for a murderer. So is having a husky dog.

As always, plenty of mouth-watering food and recipes! This is the sixth book in the popular Northwest Cozy Mystery Series by a two-time USA Today best-selling author.

A picture perfect murder

I enjoyed this book. It starts with the death and then goes back to the events leading up the murder. It does take a while to get there because Dee and Jake are busy seeing and tasting the sights of Provence, France while they are on holiday. You get a lot of great sounding treats some of which are included at the end of the story. Once back home the story picks up and Dee gets on with the mystery she discovered in France. This is the first time for me of meeting these characters but it certainly won't be the last, as they are interesting and of course includes the loveable Balto, the dog. They mystery it's self played out nicely.
For Dee's 50th birthday her boyfriend Jake has arranged a surprise trip to France so they can sample the cuisine, visit the sights and explore the art galleries and museums. While there she sees a painting that looks very similar to one she has just seen in a friends house. On her return she looks further into the matter by visiting the gallery that sold her friend the painting, only to discover the owner dead. Unable to sit back and do nothing Dee, with the assistance of her private detective boyfriend looks into the case. Can they solve the mystery behind the paintings and find a killer? Speaking French might just help on this case because everything seems to be connected back to Provence.
I liked the narrator, she did some good voices and even some accents were included.
