Summary
Former cop Michael Hessop arrives in Red Cedar with a mission - track down a teen girl named Delaney Sparrow and the predator who convinced her to run away from her family. He finds out about Liz Lucas' reputation for being an amazing amateur sleuth from the owner of Gertie’s Diner, and teams up with Liz and her dogs Brandy Boy and Winston.
The dead body of a young girl is found in the woods with a note saying the killer "will strike again". The killer makes an anonymous call, taunting that he's got a girl tied up somewhere in Red Cedar, and if she's not found in three days, he'll kill her, too.
Is the murdered body Delaney Sparrow, or is she the one who’s tied up? It’s a race against time for Liz, Michael, and the dogs.
This is the 12th book in the Liz Lucas Cozy Mystery Series by a US Today best-selling author and Amazon all-star.

Small town, big time case.
I enjoyed this fun light hearted cozy mystery. I like the way the author weaves clues into the story and has you guessing along with the main characters, because just as you think you know who it is, there is a twist that has you guessing all over again. The characters are like able, especially the lazy dog because everyone knows a dog just like that. The mystery was interesting and I liked it the way you were never sure if there was two cases or just one perpetrator at work, also I found the pi's explanation about body language interesting. This is the second book in this series that I have listened to but it won't be my last as I am enjoying the series.
A private eye comes to town and asks Liz to help him track down a missing girl. She has runaway from home with a much older man and her mum is worried about her. They haven't been investigating long before a girl's body is found. Is she the missing girl? Lucky for Liz she is soon identified and as they are questioning her brother a phone call comes in saying a girl's life is on the line if she isn't found. Using the private investigators understanding of body language can they find the missing girl before it is to late?
I liked the narrator she has a good range of voices, enough to keep the story in interesting.

mystery
I enjoyed the narration of Kasey Logan who brings out the characters and action
We start with two people getting rid of the body of someone and thinking that they had committed the perfect murder. Michael a former police officer arrives at the town searching for a missing girl. This is a fun mystery that keeps you guessing. The sheriff was a particularly frustrating character, making you just want to shout at him!
A great cozy mystery.

A great story!
Murder in the Forest is #12 in the Liz Lucas cozy mystery series by Dianne Harman. Michael Hessop, a private investigator, comes to Red Cedar looking for a missing teenager and asking for Liz’s help. A dead girl is found and a note says there will be more! Liz and Mike engage in an all out search with many of the town helping, with the exception of the lazy, sexist sheriff! Lots of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing all the way to the end! The narration by Kasey Logan is very good! I highly recommend this book and series!
