Summary

A dead judge, a college porn queen, and a castle in Kansas. Clearing her husband’s name is just part of the honeymoon.

When the county judge is murdered and Kat’s district attorney husband of far less than six months is not only a suspect, but now the lead attorney in another murder case, Kat has to find the killer to clear his name.

Sometimes a guard dog is just as important as a former Green Beret, and Kat was grateful to both of them when they saved her life!

Plenty of dogs and recipes in this cozy mystery by a USA Today best-selling author and Amazon All-Star.

Guilty at the courthouse

I really enjoyed this book. This is a very character driven story that just focusses on the mystery and what a mystery it is I have listened to a few books in this series (and yes not in the right order but that doesn't matter as each is a great standalone mystery) but I think this one is one of my favourites. I have no interest in pornography (which is a big motive in this book) but don't let that put you off because it is a cosy mystery and you don't have to listen to any sex scenes or descriptions.
I was no where near guessing who the killer was because not only was there lots of characters to choose from but several different twists or directions. Once the killer was caught it also gave you a perspective of how it effected others which was a nice touch. I can't wait for the next book.
District Attorney Blaine Evans life gets turned upside down when he gets called into the judges chamber and is told he has to take over a case that he wasn't prepared for. Everybody over hears the shouting match that ensures so When the judge is found slumped over his computer dead Blaine is the prime suspect. With Blaine busy with the case it is left up to Kat to clear his name.
The judge was getting threatening letters warning him to stop watching porn. Was his addiction the cause of his death? With a number of suspects Kat will need help solving this case.
I liked the narrator and thought she did a good job bringing the characters to life.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Rubbish

Total rubbish - terrible and trite storyline and simpering main character - and the performance was so irritating could not listen any longer. Hated it
