About this listen

A computer app that was going to bring in millions,

Developed by four young techies,

The founder of the group is murdered,

But was it murder or a burglary gone terribly wrong?

Even though Liz vows not to become involved in the case, when the new chief of police and his assistant both come down with pneumonia, she has no choice, because the killer may get away.

And could the murderer be one of the guests staying at her Red Cedar Lodge and Spa?

Sometimes it’s a very good thing when a big boxer has your back. And it’s not the first time Winston has had to play that role!

Enjoy this pause-resister, the 13th book in the Liz Lucas Cozy Mystery Series, by a USA Today best-selling author and Amazon All Star. As always, plenty of dogs and recipes.

Smart, young and trusting can get you killed

A very well-written story and completely believable! One that could easily happen in this high-tech world we live in alongside some very morally bankrupt people. One of these smart young people has sadly learned the lesson of a lifetime...sometimes your biggest enemy lurks right by your side!

Murdered for a good story

I enjoyed this book. This is book 13 in the series but the first one I have listened to and I found it to be a stand alone story and never felt like I was missing anything not having heard the previous books. I enjoyed the mystery but it did jump around, you were told about the murder then it went back in time to how they met the main character, so did get a bit confused. I soon caught up and enjoyed the solving. I liked the characters and think I will be looking out for the rest of the series as it was a nice easy mystery with plenty of suspects to keep you guessing. It also included some recipes that I am never going to make but sound interesting if you like cooking.
Liz meets four teenagers just hours before one of them is murdered. She vows to stay out of it because with her friend having got the job of chief of police she know he will stop at nothing to catch the killer unlike the old chief, who just liked giving out traffic tickets. And she does stay out of it despite everyone wanting to discus the case with her until the Chief and his assistant catch pneumonia and end up in hospital. The old chief is shouting about incompetence and wanting his old job back, so Liz steps up to the plate. First she has to work out why the teenager was killed, was it a burglary gone wrong or had someone put a hit out on her? The four teenagers were in the process of selling an app they had designed which would have made them rich. Did someone kill her to get there hands on the share? And if so what does that mean for the remaining three?
I liked the narrator and thought she used her voice well to bring the characters to life and give them a voice.
