Summary

This is a Dual POV kisses only, sweet romance.

My checklist guarantees my brother a flawless wedding.

I've missed nothing except for the one person I never expected to be there.

Male voices grab my attention. My eyes lock on one in particular.

Of course, my idiot brother forgot to tell me who his best man is.

Archer Sullivan. My high school crush.

Ten years have passed since I saw him, and he still leaves me breathless.

Archer's intense gaze makes me feel transparent.

His silence even more so.

My easy smile wobbles under his scrutiny.

The more time I spend with him, the more my defenses crumble.

He's penetrating the armor encasing my heart. I can't resist him. I'm falling for my brother's grumpy best friend...again.

This standalone is a clean, brother's best friend, grumpy/sunshine, small town, military, sweet and swoony friend romance. Let yourself get swept up with Rosaline and Archer as they realize that they have always been each other's true love. Just like with all my other books, I hope you fall in love with the two of them and are left wanting more!

Great story

Loved how your story could come more alive with having these dual voices read your story to us. Rosaline and Archer make a great couple.

Grumpy

Loved the dual narration of Zach Young and Lexi Balter

We meet 25-year-old Rosaline Morris, who is an events coordinator, and 29-year-old Archer Sullivan. Archer is a CEO of a real estate company who has retired from the Special Forces.
As Rosaline is planning her brother's wedding to her best friend, when she finds out Archer her high school crush is going to be his best man.
Archer had joined the Army at the age of nineteen. During his second mission, his troop met with an ambush, of which he was the sole survivor. Now he is struggling with PTSD . He is surprised when he see the the very grown up Rosaline is.
This may be slow-burning, clean story, but we have angst and drama. Rosaline and Arthur are both mature and know how to talk to each other over any misunderstanding.

Sweet Small Town Romance

This was my first Abby Greyson's book. This is a sweet, fun, and clean small town romance. Archer and Rosaline are interesting characters. I liked this sweet grumpy/sunshine slow burn romance. Zach Young and Lexi Balter did a good job bringing this story to life. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The narration was perfect and perfectly acted

I absolutely loved this story on reading because…. This? Perfect narrations! It’s on another level I’m so glad I gave audible a go . Absolutely brilliant work portraying the great author’s story so well. When Rosaline’s brother is to marry his high school sweetheart Elle, she is in her element. She has always loved planning events so is it any wonder she steps in to organise the wedding. She’s crossed t’s dotted i’s but she forgot one guest for her lists… Her crush who she hasn’t seen in ten years. He takes his time but eventually Archer puts Rosaline out of her no date misery. Yay! Another wedding in the not too distant future? Elle her bestie sure thinks it’s swell and all she deserves.

Fantastic embodiment of grumpy and sunshine

I enjoyed listening to this audio book. The dual POV is portrayed so well between the two narrators, they embody Archer and Rosaline so well and portray their feelings with such ease that your drawn into the story.
Rosaline's bubbly personality really shone through, as well as Archer's grumpyness, doubts and vulnerability.
It pulled you into the drama and wedding stresses seemlessly, balanced against the growing tension from the slow burn romance as they spend more time together and embrace their connection.
I enjoyed the side characters voices too, especially as there were lots of groomsmen and bridesmaids to portray alongside the main characters, but it was easy to follow along who was who, and not lose focus.

It's a sweet slow burn romance with small town cosy vibes, and follows Rosaline coordinating her brother's wedding, and unexpectedly reconnecting with his best man - her childhood crush.
The dual POV switch between chapters helps you get insight into Rosaline and Archer's thoughts and intentions, and explores how they have been hopelessly and obliviously in love with each other, but reluctant to say anything, or fearful of rejection. I like that it also covered Archer's trauma and fears of being broken, and explored his road of recovery.

Dual voice narration enhanced the story

The female narrator excelled. The two of them added to the underlying story.

A delightful romantic comedy that blends the charm of small-town life with the sweet tension of a friends-to-lovers storyline.

The plot centres on Rosaline, who is organising her brother’s wedding, only to discover that the best man is her high school crush, Archer Sullivan.

Their reunion after ten years sparks an engaging mix of nostalgia and unresolved feelings, making for an entertaining read.

The characters are well-crafted, with Rosaline’s sunny disposition contrasting with Archer’s gruff exterior.

This grumpy/sunshine dynamic adds depth and humour to their interactions, keeping readers invested in their strengthening relationship.

Greyson’s writing is sweet and heartfelt, capturing the complexities of unspoken love and personal growth.

One area for improvement might be the predictability of certain plot points, but this does not detract from the overall enjoyment and audiences expect it in this genre.

Greyson’s talent for crafting relatable characters and heartwarming scenes makes this a must-read for those seeking a heartwarming romance.

Romcom

I really liked this romcom read/listen. Im a fan of most "off limits" tropes, including brothers best friend. I thought the story was well written and also that the narration was well done. This kept me highly entertained through mynwork day.
