Summary

I never wanted my dad to remarry. The idea of replacing my mom seemed absurd to me, but he went ahead and did it anyway. I don't know how he could have possibly have ever thought that I would accept them into my world, though. I didn't want a new mom, and I certainly didn't want a step brother stealing away my only living parent's attention. I vowed to myself on the day that they got married that I would always be better than him, that I would always outshine my step brother in every way that I could, so that my dad had no choice but to look at me.

Life doesn't always go to plan though, and I know that know. Things change, and so do people. The only things that are certain in life are what have passed and even then, no one person could ever truly understand the whole story. That's how I lost the man I loved. That's how I lost the person who I'd never accepted as a brother, but had always been family to me, and now I need to find a way of getting him back.

Sweet book

This is a short but sweet book. With a cute storyline and a hot step brother it’s a winner. Good characters even if they are stubborn! Great narration from Logan.

I received this book via an Audiobook's Unleashed Promo Code and this is my voluntary review.
The plot of this story overall was underdeveloped and I really had trouble with how old the 'Couple' were when their parents got married... at 7 and growing up together in the same household,, then that person IS your sibling, nothing HOT about it. The conflict and hatred the h has towards her stepbrother then their radio silence for 6 years was realistic but I couldn't get over the absurd love declaration at her graduation when she acted like such a brat. The timing of their reunion and her stepmothers death (not to mention the way the h gloried on her improved relationship with her dad giving her the bond she always wanted with him because he was grieving and she was funeral planning made made me want to choke her... self-centred much?) the whole funeral aspect made the romance distasteful, 'stepmother in the fridge trope' there was zero mention of her interactions or thoughts of the woman's passing at all which made the h come across as shallow.

Narration... it was a male narrator but a female protagonist? Logan did a fantastic job but the gender disconnection between the character and the narrator was jarring.
