Summary

The brand-new novel from the Sunday Times best-selling author of The Magnificent Mrs Mayhew - a gorgeous listen full of warmth and heartfelt emotion.

Laurie and Pete should never have met. But fate has pushed them together for a reason.

Six months ago, on the same night, Laurie and Pete both lost their partners. Struggling to manage the grief, they join the same counselling group - and meet each other.

From their sadness, Pete and Laurie find happiness growing, and they sense a fresh new beginning.

Except, the more they talk, the more Laurie begins to spot the strange parallels in their stories. Then Pete discovers a truth that changes everything.

But, as surely as a compass points north, some people cannot be kept apart.

My One True North is a story of friendship and what love means, of secrets uncovered, tea-shops on corners and the northern lights.

Loved the book...but

I loved listening to this book, the narration felt easy and natural. I felt the ending was abrupt, I would have loved another few chapters, it just seemed to stop at an unnatural point, I felt there was several loose ends that could have been tied together with just a little bit extra.

The Feel Good Factor

I love Milly Johnson books. This one is a good tale. A little predictable as they all are, but a really good story that lifts your spirit and makes you feel good.

This one had great messages about how to deal with grief, which I thought might be useful to someone. The story is about how two people who lose their partners come to terms with their death and move on. Great story and good narration.

Not disappointed

A truly lovely story with its twists and turns I didn’t want it to end. Usually only listen to my audible books in the car but this time had it on at every spare moment so I could find out how it all ended.

Thank you Milly Johnson!

Fabulous book

I wasn't sure I'd really enjoy this as I thought it might be a bit maudlin, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have no negatives at all.

"Thankfully" I was unwell this week and was stuck in bed for three days, which was very convenient to spend the bulk of each day when I was awake listening to this story, which frankly was bliss. An added bonus was to hear snippets of familiar characters from other books, which was lovely, and of course the newspaper headlines are always a good laugh

Loved it!

Great story and even though it's quite a long book, it didn't drag at all. The characters are good and the narration excellent. It was both funny and sad in parts (the mis prints by the newspaper were hilarious!)

Another great listen from Milly Johnson

I love reading and listening to most of Molly Johnson's books. I can't imagine listening to one of Milly Johnson's books without Colleen Prendagast as the narrator. They make an excellent team. This book is warm, emotional and at times heart breaking.
