I should've walked away. Should've gone right back out the door I came through. But I didn't. And now her life is in danger. That's the thing about being a bad man. I'll happily paint the streets red to protect what's mine.
And Payton is mine. Whether she knows it or not.

The start to a great series
I have read all 3 books that are currently released in this series but as preparation for book 4 Hans release I decided to listen to the audio book throughout December .
Tropes :

Mafia
He wants her but can’t have her
I mean what’s not to love with those tropes.
Nero jumps onto Paytons balcony when trying to escape the authorities and he instantly becomes obsessed with her , watching her from a building over the road . He knows he wants her but also knows this will put her life in danger
Payton wants more of the mystery man she met one dark and stormy night but with a troubled past can she trust him .
Although a lot of the plot has dark moment there really are some comedy scenes particularly between Nero and King , There is just something about SJ Tilly’s writing that draws you in and leaves you needing more

Love Nero!
I loved Nero on Kindle and I loved him even more narrated by Jack Calihan. One of my favourite books and the perfect audiobook

A gentle love story in the middle of a mafia war, with hash realities of how their lives one can be used against them as more people learn about their growing love. With great narration from both Jack Calihan and Chloe Ryan.

That voice! Enjoyable mafia read
I have had the book on my TBR for a while, but when I found the audio I decided to take the plunge. It has been hyped up a lot on my socials and I 100% get the draw of Nero and Payton and the perfectly delivered heat.
I enjoyed this book though I did have a few times when Nero frustrated me with his lack of communication and thinking he knows what’s best but kind of doing the opposite. I did love how Payton stepped up and claimed him, and gave him no opinion but to keep her.
I do love a Tilly MMC and their possessive personality. This is a chunky read and i am exited to read the rest of this series.
Also Jack Calihan’s voice is …. WOW!! Definitely worth the listen.

So ferally obsessed!!
The plot, the darkness in Nero, the way he melted for her! A great narration done too, a perfectly gruff voice for such an unhinged man. I listened in one day because I couldn’t get enough!
