About this listen

Kit Colbana is always biting off more than she can chew. She has a knack for finding trouble. This time, though, trouble finds her. Someone from her past drops a case into her lap that she just can't refuse...literally.

People on the Council are dying left and right and she's been requested to investigate the deaths. The number one suspect? Her lover, Damon. If she doesn't clear his name, he gets a death sentence. Even if she succeeds? They still might try to execute him. Oh, and she's not allowed to tell him about the case, either.

The stakes are high this time around, higher than they've ever been. Kit may be forced to pay the ultimate price to save her lover's life...a price that could destroy her and everything she loves.

The Story Continues

The second in the series and I am actually enjoying it. I like that it's a bit dark and the world is not all fluffy bunnies and rainbows. The characters are developing nicely and the story has lots of drama. Starting book three right now ;)

Perfect Blend of Story and Narration

What made the experience of listening to Night Blade the most enjoyable?

Excellent plot, strong characters and the narration all worked so well together. I will definitely continue with this author and narrator. A really good series!

Night Blade

The second book in the series starts off so positive and ends up devastating. Can't wait to listen to the third to see what happens next. Read brilliantly again by Maxine Mitchell.

Very intense

This one is a dark book, a tear jerker. It’s a difficult listen.
You have been warned.

Shockingly good

I was actually thinking there wasn’t much substance to this story, that it was pretty weak and then it ripped my heart out. I honestly did not expect this story to go where it did, nor that it wouldn’t sugar coat what happened to Kit. Most of these types of stories never really let anything truly bad happen to the heroine, but this story pulls no punches and breaks your heart. Shockingly, heartbreakingly good. I’m desperate to know she’ll hopefully come through what happened in the next book

mind blowing!

the soft and hard magic systems, intricate political dynamics of the supernatural societies intertwined with a compelling love story and heart wrenching meaningful action makes this among the best fantasy books I've read.
