Summary

The king of interesting SciFi
What does John Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I can't imagine anyone else doing Peter Hamilton books, for me John Lee is the commonwealth.

The Peter Hamilton/John Lee combo is just spot on, I love his books especially about the commonwealth. Such a rich and diverse universe he paints with his words. As for this book, it follows in such a tradition. Well recommended.

Excellent as always
Typical Peter Hamilton in that it is great in every way. John Lee was fantastic too. Great variety of accents. Love the fallers and the eggs in these books. So horrifying but fascinating at the same time.

A Great Adventure
Peter F Hamilton via his superb Commonwealth series of books has become one
of my favourite science fiction authors. I was blown away by the first part
of the Fallers Chronicle sub-series of books that form part of the
Commonwealth saga and eagerly awaited the final part. In short, Night
Without Stars was an absolutely superb conclusion to this sub-series and
every bit worth the wait.
What I absolutely love about these stories is how Hamilton really takes the
reader on a journey. We see so much and travel to so many places in the
pages of this story that I find that the reader is immersed into the varied
and vivid worlds so skilfully depicted.
Anyone reading this review who has read the previous books in this series
can rest assured that this one is a real cracker and ranks right up there
with Hamilton's best work. Night Without Stars is an epic rip-roaring
adventure that will keep you hooked right from the start. I was unable to
put this book down and finished it in 3 days flat which translates to 8 plus
hours a day of listening!
Narration is provided by John Lee who has voiced most of Hamilton's books
which is also a welcome consistency. lee's narration is either one you love
or hate. Fortunately, I like it and although it can sound a little odd in
the style of its delivery, Lee is superbly competent.
Night Without Stars was a compelling, thrilling, exciting and addictive
read and I would highly recommend it. My hope for the future is that
Hamilton decides to continue the Commonwealth series so we can meet many of
our favourite and much loved characters once more while throwing some new
nasties into the mix.

Shatneresque performance
The narration had a weirdly Shatneresque feel to it. It takes a while to deal with the strange cadence and breathy speech patterns that Mr Lee cooks up for this audiobook.
Apart from rather too convenient set up for the conclusion of the story, a mostly entertaining listen.

Absolutely fantastic! ! I loved every second
loved it!! The story reeled me in from page 1 and then I just had to binge listen! My favourite Sci Fi writer by far!
