Ripoff * even for US first-time abroad travellers
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Nothing. This is crap. and expensive crap. But a general reflection is that an audio travel book can be listened to either in the car/airplane/other vehicle used to get to the destination, or in a hotel room at the destination, or when suffering from insomnia. In this case it is only the last case that is worth the reading.Also just recording the reading of a travel guidebook without any adaptions is as about as exciting and useful as recording for audiobook a telephone book! It is useless repeating everything a 100 times and why give telephone numbers, email addresses etc?! Its ridiculous to listen to: "That is double-u double-u double-u..." . If I cant be bothered with reading a paperback, I will surely not write down telephone numbers or addresses while listening. That kind of information is only interesting in a real book.
What could Marissa Fabris have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

What didn’t you like about Chris Andrew Ciulla’s performance?
Well its not the narrators fault I suppose that the content is crap and that the editor thinks translating every written word back to oral is the way to do it. Sorry Andrew I dont know if it is your fault that your reading gave no added value whatsoever
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Northern Italy's Wine Country?
The Sentences and phrases exactly repeated time and time and time again.
Addresses and telephone numbers spelled out for no use.
All useless info such as that this is the first audiobook I ever listened to that talks about copyright, and it does it with maniac gusto for more than 5 minutes in the first chapter of the audiobook - so for me, they lost me at "Hello".
Any additional comments?
Well if the title is Northern Italys wines it should cover all of northern italy and not only the north-west regions.
