Summary
Fortune favors...the dead!
Some secrets are too horrific to ever be forgiven, and some people should never be trusted.
Tortured, starved, and on the run, Nina thinks she's faced the worst that mankind has to offer, but she's wrong. She may have survived this long, but she hasn't come out of it unscathed, and there's worse to come.
Nina's trusty Doc Martens are showing signs of the zombie apocalypse, and she isn't faring much better. With her snarky attitude guaranteed to get her in trouble, Nina needs to forgive the past, to live once more in the present, and learn that sometimes she needs to place her trust in other people.
Because when people are faced with the end of times, they'll do anything to survive.

Another excellent book in the odium world
I was really looking forward to listening to book 2 in the odium series, I really enjoyed the books and I never realised how much I would also enjoy the audio version. This audible didn’t disappoint, I enjoyed every minute and was so sad when it ended. Roll on no 3

A story about humanities fight for survival
Odium II carries on from where we left Nina, Mikey and Emily after they are captured by the Forgotten. Again this book captivated me, I love Claire's narrative when it comes to Nina. I find it refreshing that she isn't the perfect heroine, she doesn't try to be nice and she isn't afraid to let her b*tch show after all that's just who she is.
Nina, Mikey and Emily make their escape from the Forgotten, we meet a host of new characters at the encampment they find themselves at. This is what I love most about this series as it was something outside of my norm; Claire's writing and the humanity she inserts behind her words to develop her characters is outstanding and you can't help but enjoy these books! New camp and new camp mates bring new challenges and a new dynamic between Mikey and Nina, she is finally realising she actually likes him by her side, they rely on each other and it's warming her cold black heart.
New characters are a plenty some play a big role and some revelations that going forward change the path our leads are going to take. Rachel is totally cuckoo, deluded by her warped reasoning, Nova is someone I think Nina will come to love as that girl companion she has needed for so long. Michael well, he is a kick ass soldier but a bit of a douche. What happens when Nina goes out on a recon mission has huge consequences for her and Mikey and their moment on the swing set tugged on my heart strings big time!
Throw in the cliffy involving Deacon and Hilary and you have me craving Book 3 ASAP. The story is complex, and you are truly invested in the characters old and new. I just love the psychology behind seeing how these characters try to survive in their post apocalyptic world. I listened to the audio book and the narrator Jennifer Riley nails Nina's sass, she gets the emotions across when needed, and the speed of the novel was well paced. Odium 2 has been a roller coaster of a journey and I am sure it's nowhere near stopping!

5 Stars full of suspense and gore.
Holy moly! Claire C. Riley has just took this series a whole new level. I’m in awe of her creative mind, okay slightly terrified (channeling my inner Nina).
Nina, Mikey and Emily continue their journey on the run from the Forgotten and fighting off deaders and unexpected encounters.
Heart wrenching, gut churning, suspenseful and uniquely hilarious (as hilarious as the zombie apocalypse can get).
“I don’t want to survive. I want to live.”
5 Stars full of suspense and gore.
