Summary

Bringing together six short stories - two of which are previously unpublished - One Last Dram Before Midnight is perfect for fans of Denzil Meyrick.

These tales take us from Jim Daley's early days pounding the beat in Glasgow as a young constable to a lighthearted whisky smuggling romp involving Hamish and some ghostly pipers.

enjoyed stories. volume poor

I have listened to to this authors books before and really enjoy them. This one was spoiled by the poor volume. I tried listening on both my mp3 player with speaker and my tablet but it was still low. Finished by listening with headphones.

Good short stories

Interesting short stories, lovely to hear a Scottish accent and colloquialisms. Easy to listen to.

One last dram

This was a super set of stories. Unfortunately the sound quality was not the best even through my bit more speaker .

Loved it.

A great background builder for the characters in Denzel's series. I chuckled all the way through

Highly entertaining, great for a long journey.

Always a pleasure when the narrator is the same. With the short stories its great to listen to in the car.

Increase the volume please?

Loved the stories but the volume was very low on whatever device I tried it on. It took the edge of listening pleasure.

Excellent, brilliant, fantastic

I can honestly say thos is one of the most enjoyable, engrossing, hilarious, nail biting, edge of your seat series of books that I have ever listened to, and I have an audible library of many. Brian Scott is absolutely hilarious, obviously brought to life by David Monteath but I have spent more time laughing out loud at some of his comments while also being able to picture Jim Daley rolling his eyes and slapping his head. I cannot recommend enough this whole series of books by Denzil Meyrick. My only disappointment is that they have come to an end, (hopefully only until another is released) and I am now left trying to find something to listen to that can come close. Dont be put off by the Scottish accent, it gets easier and easier to follow as the book goes on, I practically feel like a native of Kinloch now.

Really enjoyable

I don't normally read short stories, but having read the series first, I really enjoyed them.
There's lots of humour in the DCI Daley books, I would certainly recommend them.
