Summary

Claire has a good job in Guildford, Surrey. She is articulate and self-sufficient. Archie is an unemployed sculptor with no prospects who grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts. But Claire sees past his faults and loves him. Archie thinks of Claire as his best friend, nothing more.
