Do USA převezou jediný vzorek, který pro případné budoucí válečné účely uloží ve vojenském podzemním skladišti. Po třiceti letech se však organismus začne šířit a pouze agent v důchodu Roberto Diaz ví, jak velkou hrozbu pro svět představuje. Nad bývalým armádním prostorem mezitím vyrostl systém skladovacích kójí, jehož ostrahou je smolař Travis a svobodná matka Naomi, kteří nemají nejmenší potuchy, čemu budou muset čelit.
