Summary

The year was 1943. He was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps, on loan to the British, flying a reconnaissance mission over occupied France. Shot down, he had to make his way back to England with what could prove to be a very important reel of film taped to his chest. Wounded, he was grounded and sent back to the States to the Air Cadet Base in San Antonio, Texas to teach. Plagued by nightmares stemming from his wartime experiences, he was easy pickings for a woman like her

She was his commanders wife—beautiful, restless, and the wrong kind of woman for him. What would happen when they got together would be nothing less than murder...

Platform Shoes

This is a very good start to the Steve Daniels series from Linda Watkins. It is fast paced and has good, well developed characters. Scott Dawson's narration is excellent and brings the whole story to life. Well worth a listen if you like murder mysteries with a little foreplay thrown in.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the publisher and leave this honest review.

mystery

I enjoyed the narration of Scott Dawson

Captain Steve Daniels was wounded in his spitfire during WW2 and rescued by the French Resistance. Even though he was wounded, he insisted on handing over intel to the American military intelligence before he got any treatment.
Back home and due to his wounds he is sent to San Antonio Aviation Academy to teach cadets how to fly, Steve is living with PTSD,
He meets Kathy who is married to his boss and he can’t help but get involved. Soon he is also caught up with two murders.

A great mystery book.
