Bienvenido a QualityLand, en un futuro no muy lejano. En QualityLand todo funciona bien: el trabajo, el ocio y las relaciones se optimizan mediante algoritmos. Hay cosas curiosas, como que tu apellido es el trabajo que tenían tu padre o tu madre en el momento en que te concibieron, y para confirmar una compra realizada en TheShop tienes que besar el Ipad. Y los algoritmos te sugieren (e imponen) incluso tu posible pareja perfecta. Sin embargo, uno de sus ciudadanos, Peter Sinempleo, sabe que algo va mal, al menos en su vida; es, además, de los pocos que se permiten no estar de acuerdo con el mundo en que vive, y al que no le importa perder puntos (porque el sistema, sí, te evalúa constantemente). Si en QualityLand todo es realmente tan perfecto, ¿por qué hay drones que tienen miedo a volar o robots de combate con estrés postraumático? ¿Por qué las máquinas se están volviendo más humanas, pero las personas actúan como robots?
