Summary
From author Christina A. Burke comes the second installment in her wacky, romantic comedy series about the misadventures of wannabe rock star, Diana Hudson....
There's no turning back now for temp-by-day and rockstar-by-night, Diana Hudson. She's left Annapolis, Maryland to take a chance on love and to track down the singer who's stolen her song. What starts as a romantic rendezvous with new love on the paradise island of Puerto Rico, quickly becomes a wacky cross-island adventure featuring a high speed guitar chase, a bull fight, and a swashbuckling pirate.
Love blooms amid the lush landscape, until a hot bodyguard from Diana's past exposes her new love's secrets, turning her world upside down. Back home on dry land, Diana prepares for the annual Renaissance Fair and a visit from The Grands. With her career heating up, her family closing in, and her heart on the line, how will Diana keep it all together?

Rock and roll my hearties
Not sure what to make of this book. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy it but I think for my it is in the wrong category, it is billed as a mystery but with no dead bodies or suspects questioned, I think it should be romantic adventure (with a touch of humour,) okay it hard to find a category that it does fit in. The story focuses on Queenie baby and the funny situations she finds herself in while trying to find love and just live her life, oh and get recognition for the song she wrote. This is book two and it does continue from where the last book left off, so it might be easier if you know who the characters are (because there are some very weird and wonderful ones) before starting this one. There is no mystery but there is several bad guys and secrets being kept. I think it is worth a listen just to hear about a pirate taking on bulls and bikers. I said the characters were wonderful.
Queenie Baby is in Puerto Rico trying to track down the man who stole her song, with the help of her new boyfriend. The Rum song is a big hit there and is sung by a pirate, an actual pirate. Can things get an worse? Well In Queenies life the answer would be yes. His body guard just happens to be an ex boyfriend of hers and he wants her back, as if things between her currant boy friend were already strained. He is there to help his cousin get out of trouble, which doesn't go as planned. The pirate wants Queenie to go on tour with him but his managers think she has bad karma and want nothing to do with her. Back home at her temp job as a secretary the count wants her back to continue writing his manuscript and find him a lady friend and promises to raise hell until she returns. The pirate might be popular in Puerto Rico, but back home things don't go down so well. If Queenie wants to join the tour then she will have to get some good publicity in her home. How will the resonance fair take to pirates? No to mention that her whole family is coming to join in the fun. What could go wrong?
I have heard this narrator a number of times now and I always find her readings to be enjoyable, she is lively and entertaining.
