Summary

Bertram Drake, international man of mystery, leads a double life. By day he is the council’s most valuable pawn, but by night he is a traitor, aiding and abetting the dangerous leader of the organization looking to undermine dragon society—a man who goes by the name of Raven, and who is none other than the father of Bertram’s children and his beloved mate.

Kept from his family by his dangerous wild magic, Sorin is a man on a mission. As Raven—the leader of the Vanguard—his life’s purpose is to save and rehabilitate the omegas being mistreated by their cloisters, but when an unexpected discovery puts all Pedigree omegas in mortal peril, his goals shift. He must do whatever it takes to ensure no omega ends up suffering like him.

Even if it means playing the part of the villain and severing ties with his mate.

Raven: Part Two is the 92,000 word conclusion to the Forbidden Desires series. It contains eye-opening revelations, new outfits for little lizards, extremely scientific field studies, and a love that manages to conquer all. For maximum enjoyment, Raven: Part Two is best listen following the events of Clutch, Bond, Mate, Swallow, Magpie, Finch, Peregrine, and Raven: Part One.

Perfection

This audiobook is the second half of Raven/Sorin and Bertram's story, and part I must be read or listened to first.

This is my favorite of the Forbidden Desires and spin-off stories, as it brings together the events of other books and Drakes and brings a final HEA for all. There is more drama and heartache before we get to that point, though, so be aware of the trigger warnings if you have any concerns. TWs include abuse, sexual coercion, mental health issues, suicidal ideation, depression, and more. This book picks up where part I left off after the attempted kidnapping of Reynard's eggs and the destruction of the Vanguard. Sorin determines to strike out on his own to protect Bertram, and he gets more erratic and desperate in his efforts to get the Dragon Council's attention and save the remaining omegas. It broke my heart as he almost descends into madness for real, but Bertram is there to save him. Sometimes to win, you have to surrender. No spoilers, but it does work out for Sorin and Bertram. They are both willing to give up everything for the other, but will they be able to elude a vengeful Dragon Council? This book is an absolutely fantastic conclusion to Bertram and Sorin's story, as well as the entire Forbidden Desires world. The future looks much brighter for all Dragons, Omegas. former Disgraces, and all their children (human babies and whelps). I am sad to say goodbye to the Drake clan, but I am fully satisfied with the ending. Although I did want to see Sorin reunited with his children from earlier clutches, you can't have everything. It was enough to see him finally happy.

The narration by Michael Ferraiuolo is superb. He hits the characters' emotions and feelings perfectly, and it wrenches the listener's heart in the sadder and more traumatic parts. I also appreciated how the different characters' voices remained consistent throughout parts I and II of the story.

MM Dragon series - just brilliant

Wow, we've been waiting for these two books for so long, and then I wasn't sure I wanted to read them and complete the series.

So even though this is book 8 of 9, it's actually the prequel; well, both these books span hundreds of years and a lot of ground. These are not standalone, as you need to have read the others to understand the family.

Expertly written, and I have loved these books since I first found them over 4 years ago.

We finally meet Bertram Drake and follow his life, not through a decade or two but over a few centuries. His and Sorin's lives have not been easy; they are far from it.

If you start book one, you will be addicted like the rest of us. Just brilliant.

Exceptional Story, Series & Narration🎧

Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly created something very special with their “Forbidden Desires” series, from the original to the spin-off, an amazing series with equally amazing characters and storylines. The world building has been phenomenal, the same for the writing and plotting, and the complexity of it all is impressive. That said, the authors delivered a worthy ending for the series and for Bertram and Sorin’s story. Sorin became one of my favorite characters in the series, which is a complete turnaround of how I felt about him going into the Raven. My heart went out to him and all he endured and the same for Bertram, whose story is also sad, just in a different way. Bertram and Sorin romance was centuries in the making, each being on their own mission and could have easily been enemies and missed out on the loves of their lives. Thankfully, they didn’t because their world is a better place because of them. It was great to see all the characters from the earlier books, especially my favorite, Harry, followed closely by everyone else, Drakes and their dragonets. I am sad to see the series end, but with every ending there is a new beginning, one I will be looking forward to. Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly, thanks again for this amazing series and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Michael Ferraiuolo’s talent knows no bounds, and he did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them with personality and their emotions. I loved how he took each role and made it his own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. He gave each character their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow and tell who was who, and his versatility truly shines with all the different accents he used. M. Ferraiuolo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

End of a series ...

It pains me that this is the end of an epic series. However this volume felt so far from what I hoped for, but than again maybe my expwctations where to high feom my sight. For instance the reasoning away and to easy acceptance for the things that where done in the name of omega liberation by both Sorin, Bertram some of the Vanguard and also the dragon council repersentatives. I don't understand how some of the fiercest omega's, seem so complacent in accepting things on face value. Also there seem to be holes in knowledge of the afore mentioned There is cross contact, but apparently no information flows either way. Some explanations of experience and pivotal plot points are strangely revealesld.
In my opinion I would have hoped for a more balanced ending to the series it felt a lot of changes have been missed and an overall hea was the endgoal. I am not going into more detail since that would spoil te storyline. 📚 3+

Absolutely amazing series finale!

SO GOOD! Where & how to even begin reviewing this story? The Drakes have been a beloved part of my life since they first came onto the scene about 5 years ago. These audiobooks are my definite go to comfort listens - especially the first (original) 3 books, so reviewing the epic series conclusion - it's not that easy. The authors gave us this totally amazing, magical world, buried in plain sight within our own, sort of, with all these various, very well developed and fully fleshed out characters, magical dragony storylines, social justice & other important heavy issues, hoards, mates, babies & welps, love & war, tradition and change - al wrapped up in this wonderful final book. Soren & Bertram had the longest and toughest road to their eventual HEA, the most tragic, chaotic, deceptive, and secretive of all of the Drakes. Very well done, hated seeing the series come to an end.
Michael Ferraiuolo did an amazing job with all of these varied characters - so many personalities, accents, subtext and moving parts. Fantastic job with all of it, as always

A fantastic, emotional ending to this series

I can't believe this series is really over. It's no secret that I've fallen head over heels for every single Drake family member, and this final sendoff had me in tears. Sorin and Bertram had such a long, arduous journey to get to their happy ending, and their heartaches were especially difficult to experience here after how much I'd already grown to love them. I wish the two of them hadn't had such an uphill battle, but their deep conviction and unwavering love kept me fully invested even in some of the darkest moments. Any last questions I may have had about Sorin and Bertram's motivations were revealed here, the series of events leading to the "madman omega" targeting the Drake family fully explained and debunked. It's so easy to write off a villain for being a villain and never question what led them down that path, but Sorin and Bertram challenged me repeatedly to look at things from a different perspective. Sorin and Bertram didn't always make the best decisions, but everything they did was aimed towards their goal of freeing all omegas, and it was hard for me to see that in a negative light. Yes, I definitely wish things hadn't spiraled so far out of control towards the end, but seeing Bertram and Sorin's genuine remorse and heartbreak showed me that they could never truly be evil. And don't even get me started on the romance--Bertram and Sorin had an incredible connection that never wavered, even when time and circumstances seemed stacked against them. It was such a welcome relief to see them reunited after finishing their fight, and while I thought they'd have to be content living on their own and off the grid, it was even better to see where they did end up, surrounded by love and family. I was never going to be ready to say goodbye to all these lovable characters, but if this series had to end, I can't imagine a more compelling, interesting, emotional, and loving way to say goodbye. Every series-long plotline was satisfyingly resolved, every tenuous love connection was established with strong roots, and the whole of dragon society was changed for the better thanks to the mark the Drake family left on their world. I can't recommend this series highly enough, and it's definitely one I'll be coming back to for re-reads in the future.

Great ending to the series

I'm really sad this series is over. I'm going to miss the Drake dragons and their mates so so much. I feel like I'm saying goodbye to old friends. We finally found out what was going on behind the scenes during the events of the previous books. It was so emotional to see everything from Sorin and Bertam's pov. My heart ached for those two. They went through so much for decades before they finally got their very much deserved happily ever after.
I wanted two specific things to happen in this book and they did happen and it was so satisfying.
Sorin is definitely my favorite character in the series. So complex and interesting. And so strong.
I loved it. IThe perfect ending to this amazing series. The narrattor was absolutely fantastic. I love love loved how he voiced the character! Perfect.

What an epic conclusion!

This is such an epic conclusion to this multi part series. Michael Ferraiuolo is a complete wizard as there are so many part MCs that show up and still, each has a distinct voice that has carried over through all books. I liked that this book had messy relationships that didn't just get fixed because they were family, there's a lot of work and love put into everything and I love all these characters so much. Bertram and Soren went through so much and their HEA is so so sweet because of it

Worth the wait!

By the end of this book, I was seriously crying - happy tears of course. If anyone deserved a well earned HEA, it was these two.
