Summary

At 6:38 p.m. on November the 8th, 2021, Joshua Campbell-Abrams was kidnapped by an angry, homeless drug addict named Lukas Page. Joshua was severely beaten, suffered a savage concussion, and was held hostage in an abandoned church on the outskirts of Charlottesville for almost seven hours.

During most of that time, Colin had no idea where his husband was or even if he was still alive. He only knew that Joshua had been kidnapped and was in the hands of a maniac. Frantic with fear, he joined campus and city police in a joint operation to locate and rescue his missing husband. Using phone logs and GPS tracking, the combined task force was finally able to pin-point Joshua's location and execute a rescue operation.

In the aftermath of this harrowing experience, both Colin and Joshua struggled to find their emotional footing while at the same time, they were preparing for the trial of Lukas Page in which Joshua was a key prosecution witness.

In six of these stories, we watch the trial take place. From opening statements to the final verdict and sentencing, we stand with Colin and Joshua as they work to bring Page to justice.

The remaining stories are a window into Colin and Joshua's life in the days preceding the trial and shortly afterward. We watch as Colin struggles with his intense fear of letting Joshua out of his sight, especially after dark. We watch as Joshua deals with the challenges of his injuries both physical and emotional, not always making decisions that are in his own best interests.

They have both suffered an unexpected trauma and don't always demonstrate well-adjusted behaviors in their dealings with each other and with life. But the love they share remains the bedrock of their existence. Their faith in the life they've built together remains unwavering. And in these stories, we watch as the power of that love guides them to eventual healing.

Chapters dealing with the trial are presented in a separate section, and are numbered independently.

Absolutely Amazing

Such a great companion book for Relevant Law!
Janice Jarrell is at her best. Everything that I've come to love about her books, along side the talented Walker Williams makes an incredible audiobook!
Relevant Justice hast the perfect mic of drama, laughter, tears, heat, love and friendship. One of the best things that Janice does is to create a more realistic world. Many books, the character goes through life altering drama, then three chapters later theyre completely fine.
Janice shows us what it's more like in real life. It's very obvious that she's done her research before writing the books.
Then we have the extremely talented Walker Williams. He put just the right amount of inflection and emotion into a voice. I find him very easy to listen to and become lost in the books.
If you enjoy romance, contemporary or MM, then Janice Jarrell's books or audiobooks are perfect for you!

So many great moments

It's wonderful when an amazing author and narrator find each other and just "click" with a series and that has happened here with Janice Jarrell and Walker Williams. It's clear how much Jarrell loves Colin and Josh and Williams embodies them perfectly. This audio has so many great moments but a few favorites you'll discover are why Colin saying something simple like "You better turn around..." in court can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, Josh in full scientific mode in his testimony emphatically stating he doesn't form opinions about people not his patients (I love Josh in his professional mode), the realistic way Josh and Colin are still growing and learning how to be together in their relationship and so many more. There's no way I can't mention my delight in hearing the story "Last Forever" where Colin learns a hard lesson about knowing when to shut up. There's pain in that one as well as deep love and forgiveness and Walker Williams caught all the nuances. This is one of my favorite Colin and Josh books. Not all authors are as adept in the difficult short story format as they are in novel length works but Jarrell definitely is.

Amazing!

Story: Amazing. It’s an addition to Relevant Law that I did not know I desperately needed. The recount of the trial following Joshua’s kidnapping and other scenes from his life with Colin are amazing! An insight into emotions that run high, character growth that is genuine and amazingly well written, and a love that conquers it all.
Janice Jarrell created an amazing couple of characters and I cannot get enough of them!

Narration: There are no Josh and Colin audios without Walker Williams. He is perfect for these stories!

More Colin and Josh, yes please!

I read this book with my eyes when it was first published back in June and I loved it. The only thing that could have made it any better was to have Walker Williams perform the audiobook. His performance is wonderful. I hope he continues to be available to be the voice of these characters because I just don’t think anyone else could do them as well as he does. My original review is below:

I have loved every book I’ve read by Janice Jarrell. She’s created such a great world for her boys, Colin and Josh, along with their friends Nate and David, and Trent and Adam. In Relevant Justice, a collection of short stories following Josh and Colin after the events in Relevant Law, we get to visit with all of these great characters.

While you might be able to enjoy reading Relevant Justice without having read any of the other books about Colin and Josh, I highly recommend reading The Fearless Heart series in order. Better yet, start at the very beginning and read the Revolutionary Heart series first. If you enjoy audiobooks, then I can also highly recommend listening to the books; that’s actually how I first began reading Ms. Jarrell’s work. Walker Williams is the perfect audio performer for these stories. He brings all of these characters to life and truly enhanced my enjoyment of the books.

The things that Colin and Josh went through in Relevant Law were truly awful and the stories in Relevant Justice give us more insight into what the characters went through after those horrifying events. The love they have for each other is deep and wonderful but not everything is always smooth sailing for them. The most important thing is their love for each other and no matter what life throws at them that love cannot be broken.

I’m not sure what Janice Jarrell has coming next for these characters but I’ll be reading whatever she writes.
