Summary

The Halls of Venn are the seat of both knowledge and power in the great continent of Luna Ruinam. Renia, a scribe with a tragic past, spends her days expertly copying books that do little to satiate her desire for knowledge.

When a fateful commission lands on her desk, she finds herself tasked with transcribing a book coveted by assassins from the southern continent. Its theft throws the scribing halls into chaos and threatens to destroy the fragile peace that exists between their nations.

Haunted by dreams of her past, Renia must learn to master her impulses and awaken her long dormant magical abilities if she is to prevent war.

Fate, it would seem, is eager to grant her wishes. Yet she must risk everything to pursue it, and pay the bloody price it demands.

Epic Saga, with a new out of the box feel

The saga is written with impressive detail and accuracy, providing a unique background foundation to each character making it feel like being wrapped up in a quilt, and all sounds vanish from around you, while you can indulge your imagination with this beautiful story of Renia, a young girl who grew up in the moon wastes, and through tragedy her life is dramatically transformed into something unimaginable to anyone who has a knowledge of her past.

Years later, Renia has taken the position of being a scribe due to her skills in reading and writing, those skills were taught by mowlum when she was growing up in the wastes with her family and their lodgers, who was her teacher. Renia has finally received a unique opportunity within her hall, she is given three books to transcribe, from the forbidden section, where her sometimes lover also works, who becomes jealous by her success.

Dale, is part of a men’s group who discuss the subjects closely aligned to the transcription project of Renia, who is his sometime lover.

As things take a drastic shift when books/texts go missing from Master Peters locked cabinet, which calls for a full investigation into the case and matters relating to it.

Then elegantly worded saga, takes you on a rollercoaster ride into something new and unexpected, giving you a glimpse into a unique world of Luminaya, this dystopian fantasy, where it’s rare for anyone to get a foot up in this world, with charismatic characters like Dale, and guiding mentors like Sundance, who is Renia’s team leader within her scribes tower, with grumpy old masters like Peter, who are two old men, who have know skills in motivating his staff, and goes out of his way to insult other masters who are his colleagues, collaborators enter the story and everything goes wrong, and further proof of dramatic changes and moments happen to Renia, but you’ll have to buy and read this truly, exceptional book to get those answers, or will we have to wait for the next book?

Karl Forshaw, has created an incredible book, and it’s outside of the mainstream worlds that you’ll find in associated books available these days, with this new edition, which hopefully will be the starts of something new and exciting, inspiring books and stories for years to come, a truly magnificent story and a must read for anyone looking for something new.
