Summary

One minute, Casey Shea was minding her own business, doing her job, teaching entomology to college students, and the next she was in the middle of the Costa Rican jungle fighting for her life.

Troy “Beatle” Lennon has watched his friends fall head over heels in love, but never thought it would happen to him. Until he sees a picture of his teammate’s sister. That was it. The absolute joy in her eyes calls to him in a way he can’t understand.

But that joy is currently being threatened by an unknown person who had Casey kidnapped and hidden deep in the jungle. It’s up to Beatle to find her and keep her safe until the threat can be neutralized. Surviving the dangers of the jungle turns out to be the easy part.... Staying ahead of the killer is much more complicated... and deadly.

Rescuing Casey is the seventh book in the Delta Force Heroes series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Very enjoyable

I really liked Casey and Beetle's devotion to her was very sweet. He's very much a fantasy, not a real person, but what a fantasy! I guessed the villain and motive as soon as they said anything, but that didn't happen until quite late in the story. Most of the time they were just an unknown figure in the background.

What I didn't see coming was how the final confrontation would play out! It was very different from any of SS's other books and very exciting.

I'm aware I'm probably in a minority regarding this, but the focus on Annie and how adorable and super-smart she is is becoming increasingly grating in this series. She's never mentioned without someone thinking/commenting about it and I'm sick of being beaten over the head with it. I can make up my own mind based on how she acts!

Enjoyed the book, though plot is a bit far fetched

I enjoyed the book and the strong well rounded characters in the storyline. The narration was good too.

Bug Man

When Beetle sees a picture of Casey with her brother Blade , he felt attracted to her, though they’d not met. When she is kidnapped Beetle and the team have to survive getting out of the jungle and figuring out who wanted her kidnapped and left her to die. Some times the answer is close to home.
