Summary

Book 3 in the Rhianna series, a gripping sequel to Rhianna and the Wild Magic and Rhianna and the Dogs of Iron.

A great fantasy series for girls, featuring the strong character of Rhianna, believably flawed yet with an innate desire to do the right thing.

The shelf of books before them and the wall itself rose smoothly from the floor; straight up into the ceiling... Until a narrow doorway the height of a tall man was revealed. It was the top of a staircase, and the steps curved away into the darkness, downwards and out of sight... Wild Magic is loose in the kingdom, and the Queen needs Rhianna at the Castle of Avalon. But the castle is full of secret passageways and hidden tunnels, and evil is closer than anyone thinks.

Editor reviews

In the second installment of the Rhianna YA fantasy series by Australian fantasy writer Dave Luckett, its title character is summoned by the Queen to the Castle of Avalon.

Given an ethereal performance by Mikaela Martin, Rhianna and the Castle of Avalon sees Rhianna using her powers as a mage to combat the "wild magic" that has overrun the kingdom.

Luckett’s densely imagined world will appeal to fantasy readers, and Martin’s soft-spoken narration, which shifts in intensity when voicing the novel’s villains, is irresistibly listenable.

Critic reviews
