About this listen

An unrequited love, small town romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, Devney Perry.

Vera Gallagher is chasing constant. For four years, her life was anything but normal. And the years before that she refuses to even remember. Dwelling on the past only hurts. Life is fragile, a lesson her mother taught her well. She’s determined not to waste a moment of her newfound freedom.

Maybe some would consider her crush on Mateo Eden wasted time. Maybe some would call her a fool for loving a man who hasn’t once dropped a crumb of interest her way. Still, to Vera, it’s Mateo or nothing.

He’s handsome. Charming. Witty. And he loves his family the way Vera loves—with her whole heart.

Maybe he’ll never notice her. Maybe she’s too damaged, too broken, to find that normal life she craves. Maybe her secrets will always keep them apart. But Vera will love him anyway. Whether Mateo realizes it or not.

More Vera than Matteo

I enjoyed following the story but felt it wasn’t really about the family but more about Vera and her traumas. Still felt a little unfinished.

A lovely ending to a lovely series of books.

Loved the story and the narrators were excellent as usual. The description of Montana makes it the number one spot on my ‘want to visit’ list.

Great story, pity about male narration

Loved the story as always but had to switch to the kindle version once the male narration kicked in. It was near monosyllabic and sounded like they were reading a list rather than a sentence when not mimicking a characters voice.

Perfect end to the Eden's

Matteo has always been my favourite Eden, since Indigo Ridge, so I couldn't wait to read his story. What a story it was! Devney just has a way with words, that cannot be matched. And as always her audiobooks are just utter perfection.
This book was definitely 'clear and a million'.

Wow!

I have loved this series! What an amazing ending to the series! Have to the honest, I do not like the male narrator, he ruined it for me, very monotone! Story line is good though. 🩷

Great book

What a fantastic story of love and life. I loved the Edens and I m really sad to be leaving behind these wonderful characters. Vera and Mateus story was beautiful and poignant. Bur what a great way to end this chapter. The narration was excellent too

Great end to series

Thought this was a great end to the series. Not sure if I read it as a standalone I would have enjoyed it as much. one of its appeals was that it brought everything to a close. If you haven't read the whole series, I think you need to read crimson river first as it's so closely linked with Vera's story.
The male narrator wasn't the best I thought. Took a little to get used to his voice but didn't stop me from listening to it
