Summary
Mike Lynch is going through hard times. But things get much worse when he witnesses a murder in a lay-by. Snatching the victim’s car in order to get away, Mike soon makes a shocking discovery - the victim’s young daughter and her nanny are hiding in the rear footwell. This is when the real trouble begins.
Mike wants to go to the police, but the nanny, Melissa, wants to delay until the daughter, Charlie, is somewhere safe. Who exactly was the man he saw murdered? And who is the man he saw pulling the trigger?
In a situation where nothing is what it seems, Mike will have to fight for his life to protect a woman and a child he doesn’t know. And when the death count rises, he will discover what kind of man he really is. When you can’t identify the victim, how can you find the killer?

Took a gamble - enjoyed
Good story - not my usual genre (action) but enjoyed it. Some parts were a bit cringy (magicked a coin!) but as whole good fast pace.

rip roaring tale
Very exciting tale that never slows .Excellent reader who totally delivered with voice characters that were each very different without him changing his voice too much..I've enjoyed pretty well all of the Tony Forder books I've listened to and this one was very satisfying..

Entertainment without excessive gore.
Slightly different book from usual storylines by author. Thoroughly enjoyed the listen and hope more adventures from Mike Lynch to come

Terribly disappointing narration
The story is good. Somewhat disjointed in places but overall quite clever.
The narrator really destroys the story though: there are many characters and unfortunately he doesn't distinguish between them. His voice barely changes. He attempts a couple of accents but they are so slight they make no difference. The problem this creates is major ... the story id written in the first person and with a plethora of similar type of male characters it makes the story difficult to follow in places. Additionally there are often no pauses when there is a complete change of scene - couple that with not being able to identify who is speaking and you can see the problem.
If this had been narrated by someone with range and the ability to do a couple of accents at least, and to voice a woman and a child , it would have been a great audible book.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished!
I thought the whole concept around this book was clever and unusual. I am a huge Tony Forder fan and this book didn't disappoint. Every chapter revealed a new surprise, it was like a game of pass-the-parcel! The main players were so credible and the story moved along at break neck speed. Poor Mike, but what a great guy, I really warmed to him and felt invested in his ultimate outcome. Charlie and Melissa were great; I'd like a Melissa in my life. The thing with this book is that it's such a unique concept it's very hard to review without giving too much away. What I know I can say is you should definitely treat yourself to a copy of Scream Blue Murder; you can always thank me later! Great narration by Greg Wagland

I enjoyed this SO much
This is definitely one for the conspiracy theorists and I for one, loved it, not that I am a conspiracy theorist, I just think they'd enjoy this book as much as I did.
Hugely entertaining, high speed thriller. It starts with a bang and keeps on going at 100 mph. What's not to like?
I particularly liked the Charlie (child) and Melissa (nanny) bond, and Melissa was an interesting character altogether.
Greg Wagland does an excellent job with the narration as always.
