About this listen
He’s a grumpy lawman, who lives by the book.
Sheriff Ash Rawlings values order and structure above all else. He doesn’t have time for distractions, especially not now, since his new K9 partner, Dante, has a nose for trouble. But when the vivacious and rebellious Rose Galasso bursts back into his life, challenging his every move, he finds himself both irritated and captivated. She’s wild, unpredictable, and dangerously attractive.
She’s a free spirit, who doesn’t play by the rules.
The last person Rose wants to be tangled up with is the uptight sheriff who ruined her life, and their intense dislike for each other is evident to anyone within earshot. But when a wildfire uncovers a woman’s body, they’re drawn together by the cold case that has haunted them both for years. And when Rose’s ties to the victim put her in a killer's crosshairs, Ash and Dante have their work cut out for them to keep her safe.
They're enemies with a common goal: justice.
As the threat escalates, Ash and Rose must face their turbulent history if they want to survive. But can they learn to trust the enemy before it’s too late?
Searching for Justice is the third book in the Redwood Coast Rescue romantic suspense series by Tonya Burrows, but can be listened to as a stand-alone. If you crave an electrifying enemies-to-lovers romance with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this gripping adventure is a must-listen.

Ash and Rose!
As a teenager Rose went through a devastating time and she can’t help but feel that Ash is partially responsible. In the years since she has made her opinion of him quite clear but when she was abducted, she never expected the way he was there was for especially when information about the past resurfaces which places her in danger.
Ash has made mistakes in the past which he has done everything he can to atone for. When it comes to Rose’s situation, he believed that justice was served however when new evidence resurfaces he realizes that there was a lot he didn’t know and now he will do whatever is necessary to protect and claim her as his own.
The culprit was unexpected as Rose and Ash lead us on a suspenseful adventure as they make peace with the past and acknowledge their feelings and truly understand each other. The narrator had you feeling for the characters and the situations they found themselves in.

Brilliant adaptation
Sheriff Ash Rawlings and Rose Galasso have been at odds with each other since she was a child. He is a by the book rule follower, and she is a fly by the seat of your pants kind of girl. But when she finds herself in danger he is the one she can depend on. This is a great listen, the plot held my attention from start to finish and Stephen Borne's narration is excellent.

He finds he needs to want to proctor her when a body is discovered. This body is related to a cold case. This discovery puts Rose in danger. Ash needs to keep her safe.
This book has action, angst, heat and romance.

Great romantic suspense!
Oh this series! I love a good romantic suspense, and each of the books Tonya Burrows has in the Redwood Coast Rescue series delivers everything I love about the trope! This book features Ash, the sheriff and he has had his share of ups and downs. Now taking on his role as sheriff, he is in the midst of cleaning up the mess that was left for him. But that doesn't include a nosy podcast host who is determined to find the serial killer in the county. Now that a body has been recently found, she is sinking her teeth even deeper in. Rose, the bar owner is feisty! She holds no love for the sheriff as he helped pull apart her family. When she is brutally attacked though, he comes to her rescue and the two find a chemistry between them they didn't know they shared. Plus now with the new body found, the possibility of redemption for her father is on the horizon. But the question then remains, who killed her mother, and why? Is there really a serial killer nearby? And what of the new feelings between Rose and Ash? This is a fantastic listen, with twists and turns I didn't see coming. The story is smartly written, the romance has the push pull that only an amazing enemies to lovers story can have and the results left me wanting more! Bring on book 4! I need to know what happens next!
Stephen Borne is a favorite, and he just knows how to connect with his characters. Each one perfectly suited with a voice that is full of the personality expected. He builds the suspense, leaves the emotions high and gives the passion and spice a kick! Loved his performance.

Great Story & Narration🎧Thrilling & Captivating!
It is great to be back in Tonya Burrows’ “Redwood Coast Rescue” world again for another amazing romantic suspense. I am loving this series and the amazing world Burrows created, it has become one of my favorite places to visit and spend time in. This third book is Sheriff Ash Rawlings and Ambrosia “Rose” Galasso’s story, and wow, what a story it is. Ash is all about law and order, and is busy taking over for the former sheriff, who was lazy and corrupt. Rose owns and runs a pub in town and is not a fan of the uptight sheriff and she does not hide her dislike for him. The two have history that goes back to when he first joined the sheriff’s office and it is not a good history. There is a lot going on in this small town and there is a podcaster who is certain there is a serial killer on the loose. Rose’s aunt is questioning whether the body that was found is that of Rose’s mother, but the sheriff is certain they have the murderer and does not want to open that case again. But how certain is he and what if that body was Rose’s mom and she was a victim of the supposed serial killer? Lots of unanswered questions, and then someone kidnaps Rose, drugged her up, but the sheriff finds her in time. He goes into a protective mode with Rose, which puts them in close proximity with each other, and it does not go off too well at first, but the two realize that there is a great chemistry between them. Was all that angst and fighting just foreplay for what was to become of them and their relationship? I loved how everything played out in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. This enemies-to-lovers romantic suspense is captivating from start to end. It has the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, emotional moments, and steamy romance. Tonya Burrows, thank you for another amazing story and wild ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, Tonya Burrows cast the perfect narrator to bring her characters and story to life. Stephen Borne covers the roles of both the male and female characters, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. His character voices have been consistent throughout the series and the quality of the audio is top-notch. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and has you feeling every single one. Stephen Bourne is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Excellent
Excellent. Loved the fact that the other characters continue in these books as well as the Main characters. Good pace, and just the right amount of intrigue. The quick intro for the next book was a lovely treat too. I really look forward to it.

A Second Chance Suspenseful Romance
First of all, this is the third book in the series. It follows the love and lives around the Redwood Coast Rescue team. It has romance, suspense, action, angst and a lot more! While the books are pretty much stand-alone, there is a bit of a teaser at the end hinting at what is next. I suggest reading or listening to the books in order because a lot of the characters appear in multiple books. It is more enjoyable to understand their stories as well.
Ash and Rose have so much chemistry between them though it swings between antagonism and sexual chemistry. They also have a history that colours their relationship. This story is about the resolution of that history and the possibility of a second chance to connect. Despite what that sounds like, the second chance isn't about their romance but about rectifying a wrong done over 13 years ago.
I enjoyed this story. It had everything from romance to action to angst to resolution. It doesn't move slowly and it takes some unusual twists along the way. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series!!

Oh freaking hell! Tonya just delivered a masterpiece I did not see coming. Having read nearly all of her books - I do have favorites, sure, but Ash and Rose just made it to the top of that list. Betrayal, corruption, lies and promises- all build around a Sheriff who seems a little out of his league and working nonstop with what the former Sheriff left, he needs to protect Rose from a power neither saw coming - out to kill her. Meanwhile dealing with his own demons from his past haunting him. Fabulous work - I voluntarily reviewed as an ALC - once again fabulously narrated by Stephen Borne!
