Summary

Author E.G. Lewis has paid careful attention to detail, providing a carefully studied historical background and sketching a consistent view of the unknown with a masterly pen. Follow the saga of Rivkah who accompanied her father to Bethlehem where she held Mary's newborn son. Meet Shemu'el, the young man she loves. Follow them as they convert to the Way of Yeshua. You'll encounter a cast of fascinating, multi-dimensional characters and share the high points of early Christianity as they move from Jerusalem to Antioch and eventually to Rome.

The ever-popular Seeds of Christianity Series provides a heartfelt retelling of the lives of those early believers who formed the soil that yielded a rich crop still being harvested today. Set against a backdrop of biblically and historically accurate events, these epic tales entertain, educate, and inspire.

Great Idea - but disappointing result

The idea of an overview of the rise and spread of Christianity as seen through the eyes of involved contemporaries is excellent.
Indeed a fair amount of interesting background is conveyed through the various characters.
The weak points are the extremely tedious frame story. Coupled to this are annoying inaccuracies of the pronunciation of Hebrew names, incorrect grammar (plural forms used when the singular is needed) and the incongruous appearance of Yiddish ("Beshert" -Yiddish for destiny).
Lastly, the reader was inconsistent in separating voices and overall the performance was monotonous.
The books are too long and would benefit from a radical pruning of the frame story to concentrate on the heart of the matter.
50+ hours would be better spent reading the Gospels and the Book of Acts, and all the rest of the New Testament
